What do we do with the things we can no longer unsee?

Three American doctors went to Gaza to save lives. They witnessed things no doctor should have to witness, and came home knowing they couldn't stay silent. They spoke to the media, testified before Congress, and kept telling the world what they saw.

But you don't have to go to Gaza to show up for Palestine. Sometimes it starts with being willing to listen. To learn. To sit with uncomfortable truths, ask questions, and refuse to look away.

🇵🇸 Join us for the screening of the film *American Doctor*, followed by a conversation with two Canadian doctors who volunteered in Gaza, Dr. Hassanali Kapasi and Dr. Nour Khatib. Come listen, learn, and be part of a conversation that matters.

What does solidarity actually look like when you’re ready to move beyond posting, sharing, and watching from the sidelines?

On October 3, people from Guelph and beyond will come together for a full day of learning, strategizing, connecting, and figuring out where our collective efforts can have real impact.

You’ll hear from organizers, activists, healthcare workers, and community voices working across different movements—and leave with more than just things to think about.

And we’re ending the day around a table, with a beautiful Southern Lebanese vegetarian dinner prepared by Chef Layla Saleh, using local produce.

If you’ve been looking for a way to get more involved, this is a good place to start.

Olive trees are being uprooted at an absurd rate in the West Bank. Farmers need military authorization just to access their own land to care for and harvest their trees. Every bottle you purchase helps these farmers continue protecting a tradition that Zionists are trying to erase.

There are things you don’t always hear about in the headlines 📰

I was told by a woman in Gaza that she had to make a difficult decision, whether to use the little money they had received in donations to buy food for her children, or to buy insect repellent so they could even sleep at night.

She also shared that wood is too expensive, so she had to burn her own clothes just to be able to light a fire and bake bread for her family.

These are the kinds of stories that rarely reach us.

And while people may look “okay” from the outside, we don’t know what is hidden underneath, skin issues, infections, and illnesses caused by heat, poor hygiene, insects, and complete lack of fresh water.

Pakistan Cooks for Gaza is our small way of refusing to look away. A way to turn awareness into action, even in a small room with a small group of people.

100% of proceeds from this class will go directly to supporting a family in Gaza. 🇵🇸

With every bite, there’s a story behind it.

Food has always been more than just what’s on the plate for me.. it’s memory, it’s heritage, it’s how I stay connected to where I come from.

Palestine in a Bowl was created from that place. From the salads I used to make in my ghost kitchen, to the recipes my mom made for us growing up, to the flavors I kept coming back to over the years.

This book also carries something deeper. 10% of the sales goes directly to support a family in Gaza. In April that amounted to $20. Thank you to every one who supported this humble project. Here hoping for a better May.

The past few weeks have felt like a little bubble 🫶

Welcoming our baby girl has been the most beautiful and humbling experience. It’s a kind of love and responsibility you really can’t put into words, equal parts magical and challenging in ways we’re still learning to navigate.

In the middle of all that, the sweetest surprise showed up from our family. A basket filled with goodies from different vendors, along with a card signed by so many of you… we were honestly so touched. Truly. It’s one thing to be part of a market, but this kind of care and thoughtfulness is something else entirely.

Thank you to each and every vendor who contributed and took the time to send your love. It was the most beautiful gesture, and we’ll never forget how it made us feel in such a special season of our lives 🤍

Being part of this community has always felt special, but moments like this really remind us.. it’s bigger than just a market. It’s a family, and we feel so lucky to be part of it.

We took a little 3-week break to soak in these early days, and while it was so needed, we really missed it.. the vendors, the customers, the familiar faces, all of you.

We’re so excited to be back this Saturday (with a few more baby pics of course 🥹). And one day soon, inshallah, she’ll be right there with us at the booth.
