The Guelph Farmers Market has been a focal point of the downtown for 190 years and remains a place where farm fresh fruit and vegetables can still be purchased. It continues to be a community place where families come to shop for quality meats, cheese, produce, baked goods, preserves, and delicious foods prepared by the vendors. Our farmers work hard and proudly sell the fruits of their labour while our customers enjoy the one-on-one relationship with the producer. During the winter months the majority of the market activity is conducted from within the market building while our summer market extends to the outside and includes the Market parking lot

Meet Your Market | Episode 12

Meet Zaid from Olive Haven, a Palestinian family-owned business bringing the flavours of Palestine to the Guelph Farmers’ Market. From their famous hummus and pita bread to Palestinian olive oil and refreshing drinks, there’s so much to discover at their booth.

Over the years, Olive Haven has grown into something beyond food. As Zaid shares, the business has become a way to raise awareness about the ongoing genocide in Palestine, share resources, and help community members learn about ways to take action, including boycotts.

On November 15, Olive Haven will host a screening of American Doctor, a documentary following three American physicians who travelled to Gaza to provide medical aid. For more information, visit their Instagram page.

This Saturday, stop by Zaid’s booth to find your new favourite dip, connect with the story behind the food, and learn more about ways to support Palestine. 🇵🇸

Stephen is also offering his workshop at 10C on Wednesday October 28 from 4 to 9pm. Drop in and create the best jack-o’-lantern you’ve ever carved. A light system, tools, pre-carved large pumpkin and all instruction are included in this price for $60 (includes taxes).

Meet Your Market | Episode 11

Meet Paul Lee from Living Springs Growers in Fergus, Ontario! 🌱

As the sign at his booth proudly says, “We grow what we sell.” And Paul has been doing just that at the Guelph Farmers’ Market for an incredible 50 years.

Paul has been growing vegetables since he was 16 years old. Today, you can find him at the market with a wonderful variety of homegrown produce, from Japanese eggplants and peppers to huge tomatoes, potatoes, and more. 🍅🌶️🥔

When we asked Paul about farming, he told us that what he does isn’t work — it’s just a whole lot of exercise! And after talking with him, you can tell just how much love, care, and pride he puts into everything he grows. 💚

After 50 years at the market, Paul is a true part of its story — and we’re so lucky to have him here.

Stop by his booth this Saturday, say hello to Paul, and pick up some of the fresh produce he grew himself! 🌿

🌟 Calling all vintage and antique sellers!

We are looking for vendors for our Vintage and Antique Market happening at the on Sunday November 15 from 11am-4pm.

This event is open to antique, vintage & retro vendors, plus makers of restyled & upcycled items too.

After submitting an application, Market staff will be in touch and, if accepted, set-up payment options. Payment of booth fees must be received in order to secure your spot.
