This summer, ’s program will help bridge the gap for children who lose daily access to school meals when classes end.
Through the program, 220,000 child-friendly food packs will be delivered to food banks in 235 communities across Canada. Each pack is filled with nutritious shelf-stable items including single-serve Organic Meadow milk cartons. Participating food banks also receive grant money to supplement the food packs with perishable items.
Food Banks Canada is the leader in addressing food insecurity in Canada. Their mission is to provide national leadership to relieve hunger today and prevent hunger tomorrow in collaboration with the food bank network from coast to coast to coast. This includes programs like After the Bell which help families feel supported by providing children with access to nourishing, kid-friendly food all summer long.
