My goodness we were young! The farm on Walker Island in 2011! If you know, you know! Who received a veggie box back then?
We didn't have a tractor. We poked holes into firefighting hoses to create irrigation systems and pumped water out of the slough. Lifelong friendships were made. Unbelievable food was eaten. A seed was planted for growing lots of food in the Bella Coola Valley.

Poet, philosopher and agrarian thinker Wendell Berry passed away today. He influenced a whole generation of farmers, including myself, to becoming stewarts of the land, to seek a life of filled with community, respect for all of nature's creatures and intention. Wendell Berry was a huge critic of the agri-industry and the disintegration of family farms in the US. Bless his soul 🤎

We never have tomato sales. They are hard to grow well on the raincoast. While they are our most exciting crop; high humidity, cold nights, a short season and prima dona high maintenance status mean that they're not that profitable. Tomorrow is the exception. All of our tomatoes will be on sale. We'd really like to get rid of all of these flats! Come see us at the Bella Coola Farmers Market tomorrow 10-1 💚

We LOVE our vibrant Bella Coola Farmers Market! Tomorrow we are bringing SOOOO much good stuff. We're not sure how it'll fit into the truck;). If you've found some of our lettuce or tomatoes on the side of hwy 20 then you know it doesn't always do;)
LOTS of tomatoes finally! And we're having a midsummer sale on broccoli, cauliflower and jalapeños and so mucho mas.
