2025 AQHA Bay Filly

PALE FACE DUNNIT × SPOOKS GREAT KID (LTE $15k, producer of NRHA money earners)

This eye-catching young filly has the looks, movement, and pedigree to match!

Sired by Pale Face Dunnit, an NRHA $5 Million Sire, and out of Spooks Great Kid, an NRHA money earner with approximately $15,000 LTE and producer of NRHA money earners, including the great mare IMA SPOOKY CHIC (by Smart Chic Olena). She is also a full sister to FACEIT TILL U MAKEIT! (See photos of her siblings in the comments section of this post.)

Not only does this filly have the bloodlines to make an exciting reining prospect, she’s also a beautiful, fluid mover with a natural way of going that would make her an excellent candidate for the growing ranch events!

Raised with excellent care from day one, this filly has been on a consistent, high-quality feeding program, has had a regular deworming schedule throughout her life, and is up to date on her vaccinations. She’s had a great foundation in terms of nutrition and care, and is ready for her next chapter!
Please note: This filly is deaf. 🔈

Since it’s Thanksgiving, I thought this would be the perfect time to share one of the many things we’ve been especially thankful for lately… 🍂🤎 👀

So here’s a long overdue update on our girl, “Olive” (Charlottes Lil Chic)! 🫒

Our homegrown girl finished Top 25 out of 173 entries in the NRHA Open Level 1 Futurity, and Top 30 in the Open Prime Time Futurity at the All American Quarter Horse Congress! 🏆

Bred, born, raised & trained right here in Canada, then off to Ohio to compete alongside some of the best horses and trainers in the industry. What an experience for our little Canadian girl! 🇨🇦

We are so proud of our girl and so grateful to everyone who helped get her there, especially Lucie Blouin for all the hard work and dedication she’s put into this special filly. Watching one of our babies walk into a prestigious show pen like that is truly beyond special.

Olive still has so much growing to do and confidence to gain, which makes us even more excited about what the future holds for her. We truly believe the best is yet to come for this talented Chic daughter! 🫒♥️

From a little baby in our pastures to the big stage at Congress… what a blessing it’s been to watch her grow up!

🐎 Smart Chic Olena: The Stallion Who Mastered Cutting, Reining & Cow Horse

Few Quarter Horses have demonstrated versatility quite like Smart Chic Olena. The striking 1985 sorrel stallion didn't simply excel in one Western discipline—he built an extraordinary reputation in cutting and reining, then became an enormously influential sire of reining and reined cow horses. 🌟

🧬 Born From Legendary Bloodlines

Smart Chic Olena was foaled in 1985, by the legendary Smart Little Lena and out of Gay Sugar Chic, a daughter of Gay Bar King. So while the shorthand Smart Little Lena x Gay Bar King identifies the major male influences, his complete parentage is Smart Little Lena x Gay Sugar Chic (by Gay Bar King).

His sire hardly needs an introduction. Smart Little Lena became the first horse to capture cutting's celebrated NCHA Triple Crown, winning the Futurity, Super Stakes and Derby with Bill Freeman.

That pedigree gave Smart Chic Olena an impressive foundation—but he went on to create a remarkable record of his own. 🏆

✂️ From Cutting to Reining

Smart Chic Olena accumulated $167,471 in recorded performance earnings, including more than $110,000 in NCHA competition. He earned 65 AQHA performance points across cutting and reining.

In 1990, he became AQHA World Champion Senior Cutting Horse. Three years later, he demonstrated his versatility by becoming the 1993 AQHA World Champion Senior Reining Horse, while also earning the 1993 NRHA Open Reserve World Championship. 🐎💨

The NRCHA notes an especially remarkable distinction: Smart Chic Olena is the only horse to have won AQHA World Championship titles in both Senior Cutting and Senior Reining.

🌟 An Even Bigger Legacy as a Sire

As impressive as his show career was, Smart Chic Olena's influence became even greater through his offspring.

He became an NRHA Million Dollar Sire in 1999, reached $3 million in NRHA offspring earnings by 2005 and crossed the $5 million mark in 2009. Among his celebrated offspring were Smart Spook, Smartest Chic Olena, Chic Please and Commandalena.

And his numbers have continued growing long after his death. Current QStallions/QData figures list 2,210 AQHA foals, more than $15.5 million in total offspring earnings, 32,000+ AQHA points and 20 AQHA World Champions. His offspring earnings span reining, cutting, reined cow horse, ranch events and roping. 🤠

🏅 A Hall of Fame Legacy

Smart Chic Olena entered the NRHA Hall of Fame in 2004. He was subsequently recognized as an AQHA Hall of Fame stallion, and in 2023 the NRCHA inducted him into its Hall of Fame.

Smart Chic Olena died in 2012, but his genetic influence remains very much alive. His daughters have themselves become important producers, extending his contribution into further generations. 🧬✨

From the cutting pen to sliding stops and working cattle, Smart Chic Olena represented the versatility at the heart of the American Quarter Horse.

His trophies established his reputation. 🏆
His descendants turned it into a legacy. 🐎❤️

As much as we’d love nothing more than to ride the third generation after having shown both her mom and granddam, we unfortunately can’t keep them all… but we are so proud of this filly & so excited for whoever gets her! 🩵

🦋𝑯𝑶𝑾 𝑼 𝑮𝑬𝑻 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑮𝑰𝑹𝑳🦋 “Timbit”
Available for purchase

This gorgeous 2025 AQHA palomino roan filly is sired by ONE TIME UP NORTH, an NRCHA money earner of $58,000+ and proven show horse by One Time Pepto. She is out of our great mare HOWDY U GET LUCKY (by Pale Face Dunnit), who has been having an incredible show season and consistently finding herself at the top of the leaderboard in the ranch events.

Timbit is athletic, cowy, well built, eye-catching and bred with the versatility to go in a lot of directions. With her great mind and both parents being successful show horses, we think she’ll make a really cool prospect for ranch, cow horse or reining! She’s big & strong (currently standing at about 14,2hands) and she’ll be a solid, exciting prospect to start later this fall!
