A little Porchlight update!

I think I seriously underestimated how hard it would be to continue running Porchlight from home while also spending every single day renovating and getting the new shop ready.

Between being a mom, a wife, running a business and trying to get this new space open, I am EXHAUSTED lol.

I just wanted to apologize for all the last-minute changes to our hours lately. I know I’ve been a little all over the place, and I really do appreciate everyone being so understanding. I’m trying my best to juggle everything, but I’m quickly realizing there’s only so much one person can do in a day!

I’m so beyond grateful for everyone who’s offered to help, checked in on us, sent kind words or continued supporting Porchlight through all of this. I truly couldn’t do any of this without you guys.

With that being said, **we will be closed tomorrow, Saturday October 10th.**

I’m also considering taking the week leading up to our storefront opening off from the home café so I can focus on getting everything finished and maybe catch my breath a little. I haven’t fully decided yet, but I’ll keep everyone updated!

I’m so excited for what’s coming, and I know all of this will be worth it. I’m just one very tired girl trying to make a big dream happen while also keeping the rest of my life together lol.

A little while ago, before the storefront was even officially secured, I put out a post to see how much interest there might be from local vendors wanting to be part of Porchlight.
Well… now it’s real!
The storefront is happening, the space is coming together, and I’m officially opening up the Porchlight Café & Market Vendor Application for anyone interested in selling their products inside the shop.
A huge part of the vision for the new Porchlight is creating a space where people can come in for coffee, stay awhile, and also shop from amazing local makers and small businesses in our community.
I’m looking for a really good variety of products — things like jewelry, food products, candles, pottery, home décor, bath/body, art, stationery, baby items, pet products, packaged goods, gifts, seasonal items and more.
Vendor spaces will be available for a flat monthly rental fee starting at $40/month, and Porchlight does not take a commission on your sales. Applicable card-processing fees will still apply to card transactions processed through the Porchlight checkout.
Vendor spaces will also rotate periodically throughout the year, so if you aren’t selected for the first round please don’t be discouraged your application may still be considered for a future opening!

Hello friends! We’re officially about ONE MONTH out from opening the doors to the new Porchlight!!! ☕️

Things are getting a little crazy over here as we head into the final stretch — renovations, planning, ordering, building, organizing…and I’m trying my best to balance it all while still keeping Porchlight running from home!

With that being said, moving forward Porchlight’s hours will be 7AM–1PM while I put some extra time into getting our new space ready for you.

I seriously cannot believe how close we are. Seeing everything we’ve talked about and dreamed about slowly come together has been so exciting, and I’m SO grateful for everyone who has continued to order, stop by, share our posts, check in on the renovations and cheer me on through all of this. 🥹

The next few weeks are going to be BUSY, but so, so worth it.

Little PORCHLIGHT update 🤎
Renos are coming along!! It still looks a little crazy in there right now 😂 but every day it’s starting to look more and more like an actual space and I’m getting SO excited. There are a million little things happening behind the scenes right now, but it’s finally starting to come together and I seriously cannot wait for you guys to see it all finished.
Just a heads up though, I’ll be closed tomorrow, Tuesday September 15th, because it’s Max’s very first day of daycare 🥹 and I definitely want to be there for that.
I’ll also be closed next Tuesday the 22nd for a medical test.
Thank you guys for being so patient with me while I’m trying to juggle PORCHLIGHT, renos, mom life and everything else right now,It’s definitely a lot, but I’m so excited for what’s coming.
I’ll keep sharing little reno updates as we go because there is LOTS happening ❤️

First and foremost, I just want to say thank you Like seriously, thank you.
To every single person who has supported Porchlight over this last year, whether you’ve ordered one coffee or a hundred, shared a post, told someone about us, stopped to chat, offered to help or just cheered us on from the sidelines…thank you.
Because somehow, with all of your support, we have secured a commercial storefront!!!!!!!!🥹❤️ 21 King st e

This is such a huge step for us and honestly kind of terrifying to even type out… but we would not be doing this if it wasn’t for all of you. I genuinely mean it when I say it wouldn’t be Porchlight without this community and the people in it. This past year has brought so many people into our lives that we never would have met otherwise. I’ve made real friendships and genuine connections through this that I never would have made,
And that means everything to me.

There is A LOT of work to do , but I’m so excited to finally create the Porchlight I’ve had in my head for so long. A place with good coffee, good food, local talent and just a cozy place for people to come hang out and feel welcome. I don’t really know how to put into words how grateful I am right now. This is a really big jump for our little family and our little business. But I think you guys will love it just as much as me.

With all that being said
September and October might have slightly different hours here and there while we’re doing renos, but I’ll always keep everyone updated on our hours. We’ll still be here making your coffees as much as we can while we get the new Porchlight ready!

I was thinking about sharing more of the behind-the-scenes stuff on TikTok maybe?the renovations, things we find along the way, shopping for the store, decorating, probably me questioning every decision I make 😂 and just watching the space slowly turn into Porchlight.
If you guys would actually be interested in seeing all of that, let me know!! Because if you are, I’ll start sharing the whole process over there.
I feel like it could be really fun to have you guys along for the ride from empty storefront to opening day. 🥹☕️
