A while back, Halifax ReTales posted something somewhere about a burger chain in Copenhagen called Halifax Burgers. As it happened, we were planning a trip that way anyway, so we made a point to visit - and we weren't disappointed!
As legend has it, the founders visited Halifax during our burger craze in the mid-2000s and were Inspired to bring it back to Denmark.
M tried the Copenhagen burger (beef, cheddar, Chipotle mayo, pickles, lettuce, raw onions and aioli on brioche) and gave it a solid 9/10 - the flavours worked well together but it was really heavy on the raw onions. J went for the Amager (beef, cheddar, bacon, onion marmalade, herb mayo, lettuce and aioli on brioche) and practically licked the plate clean - 10/10, no notes! The portion of friies was "modest," but were they ever good!
Maybe they should consider expanding over to our Halifax someday...
