Our local eateries are suffering when we buy through delivery apps. Delivery apps charge unsustainable fees of 20% to 30% to the restaurants they “partner” with, on top of the service fees and delivery costs we pay as customers. Most of the Canadian food industry has very slim profit margins of only 4% to 6% on average. So why are restaurants paying these outrageous fees? The majority don’t have m

uch of a choice. Many of your favourite restaurants are now relying on delivery more heavily than ever before, some with 50% or more of their orders arriving through 3rd party delivery apps.
