Meet Pecorino, a lesser-known Italian grape from Abruzzo. This week, Mark explores this fresh and aromatic white w**e, with subtle floral notes and a crisp, clean finish that makes it a perfect match for seafood.

And yes, the name really does come from pecora, the Italian word for sheep. 🐑🍷

You can find this Pecorino from Torre Zambra at select NSLC stores, or stop by Eliot & Vine to give it a try.

🍷 Which w**es should you cellar? Not every w**e is built to age. For reds, look for plenty of fruit, structure, tannins and acidity. Full-bodied w**es from regions like Italy, France, Spain and Portugal can be great candidates for the cellar.

For whites, fruit and acidity are key, with grapes like Riesling especially well suited to aging. And don’t forget sweet and fortified w**es like Port and Sherry, which can have incredible longevity.

While part of Italy, Sardinia boasts its own identity, culture, food and w**e.

It’s an island of dramatic scenery where white sandy beaches lay beside jagged mountains. It’s an island known for fresh seafood but its less populated interior holds many of its culinary treasures, including its world famous cheeses.

It’s a place of mysterious and alluring w**es such as Vernaccia Di Oristano and Malvasia Di Bosa made in Vin Jaune like styles , great white w**es from Vermentino, complex whites from Semidona and Grannazza, fruit forward and easy drinkers from Monica and Cannonau and if you are lucky enough to find it bold and powerful w**es such as Canaglari Riserva.
