Next stop: Reynolds Family Winery. 🍷

Now this was a winery experience.

Reynolds is one of Napa’s newer wineries, going back more than 25 years, started by a dentist who decided to follow his passion for wine.

And you can taste the passion.

The philosophy here is simple — smooth, elegant wines that can stand completely on their own.

Jesus, our host, was fantastic. Every wine he brought to the table had a story. He took us through the aromas, the flavours and the experience of each glass.

These weren’t wines that needed food to make them better.

They were wines you could sit with.

Taste them.

Let the flavours stay with you.

And enjoy the moment.

My favourite?

The Chardonnay.

Wow.

I honestly would fly back from Canada just to get this wine again. 🇨🇦🍷

Sometimes you visit a winery.

Sometimes you discover a wine you’ll remember.

Napa has a way of making you slow down.

Today was reserved for great wineries, good stories, and the sort of wine that makes you forget to check the time.

Our first stop was Trefethen Family Vineyards, one of Napa’s historic wineries, where the vines seem to have been keeping secrets long before the rest of us arrived.

Joe, our host, was the perfect guide. He didn’t simply pour the wines; he told the stories behind them — the family, the property, the history. And suddenly, you’re not just tasting wine. You’re tasting a little piece of Napa.

The Cabernet Franc was my favourite. Great body, strong character, and enough depth to make you want another sip just to see where it takes you.

Then came the Rosé. Dry, fruit-forward and wonderfully refreshing. The kind of wine that quietly suggests, You really don’t have anywhere else to be today, do you?

And perhaps, in Napa, that’s exactly the point.

Thursday evening, we headed across the bay to Alcatraz.

There’s something about standing on that island, looking back at San Francisco, and knowing the history that unfolded here. You can read about it, watch the movies, but being there is a different experience.

Definitely one of the highlights of my San Francisco trip. 🌉🏝️

Some days, the weather changes your plans.

The rain kept me away from the Bronte Farmers’ Market today, but that’s the beauty of this business, you simply pivot. Instead, you’ll find me at the winery helping with the BROCATOEATZ Sunday pop-up.

Fresh pizza coming out of the oven. A glass of local wine in hand. Good conversation. Great people. That’s what summer Sundays are all about.

If you’re looking for a place to slow down for a while, come spend your Sunday with us. We’ll save you a seat.
