We've all heard it. "Time is money."

Tried something different this year with the flower tarps. In the past they have been pulled. Cleaned up, labeled and neatly put away.

All takes time.

This year we left them on. And I'm sold. Just a bit of fine tuning and this will probably be the way of the future.

You can use this method in your gardens also.

To clean up a bed.
Expand your garden with out any back breaking work.
Get rid of problem areas.

While cutting the grass in the gardens, this bright spot of yellow between the weeds kept on catching my eye as I zipped past.

Couldn't a be dandelion. It was just to bright.

Of course I had to go and see what this foreign object was.....you never know. It could be a pot of gold.

Something just as precious. It was a ranunculus that had survived the harsh winter. All the snow, the freezing temps and blasting gale like winds.

What a gift as it looked at me with it's cheery, smiling face.

Your tenacity, your grit, your strength to push through, to shine and bloom has been the lift I needed.

Some days flower farming feels slightly unhinged.

Did you know.....
every flower seems to have its own personality disorder.

Some refuse to germinate.
Some grow to slowly.
Some grow to fast.
Some get eaten overnight by something tiny and rude. (rabbits)

But despite all that.

When the field starts blooming, it still feels magical every single time.

The raspberries are setting. They are starting to form buds.

Buds than blossoms.

It's about a month from blossom to fruit. Than the count down begins.

Missing your fresh fruit? Frozen raspberries. You can't tell the difference from fresh.

Bonus.......no pressure to hurry up and use them. They last forever in the freezer. The best.
