Magwood Maple Treats We operate a business based on a Canadian tradition. We offer a complete line of traditional and modern maple products available all year round.

Hanover dairy farmers Jim and Dianne Magwood started making maple syrup on a very small-scale to demonstrate to their young children how it was done. In their start-up year they tapped 12 trees and boiled the sap in a steel pot on a propane barbecue. Ten years later, with their now-grown daughter and sons working alongside them, they make more than 850 taps in an area of bush that covers approxima

tely fifty acres. They use plastic tubing to collect the sap and a large wood-fired evaporator to boil it up. Around Hanover the Magwood name has been associated with farming and farm products for more than 100 years. Jim’s grandfather was one of the founding members of the Hanover Creamery and an active member of the National Farm Radio Forum back in the fifties. Although syrup was originally produced by the family for home use, Dianne and Jim took the enterprise to a new level by offering maple products for sale to the public.
