ATTENTION Bunny lovers, fibre artists and gardeners!
I have 5 pure male English angoras (the first 5 bunnies pictured) and 1 angora x Rex mix with spinnable fibre available (last 3 pictures).
I was hoping for some sun to attempt better pictures but that doesn’t seem to be in the forecast and shearing time is coming up, so I figured I’ll make do and take some fluffy pictures before they’re all sheared!
Their fibre is over 3 inches long and starting to shed something fierce which is my sign it’s time to shear. As well with warmer weather coming (hopefully? 🤔) I want to keep my bunnies cool ☺️ heat and bunnies do not mix, shorter coats allows them to expel heat easier and cozy up to the frozen water bottles I put in their hutches when the temps go above 28C.
As you can see from the last picture, shearing has begun. The mixed guy must have been having a blast rolling around wherever he could because he was covered in little mats and knots. So I decided to shear him today before that little knots and mats turned in to big ones!
If you’re interested in a bunny or have any questions feel free to send a message ☺️
