Update: barred rocks, pullets and roosters left!

I have made the executive decision to downsize our flock a tad!

We simply do not sell enough eggs to justify the amount of hens we have. So at no fault of their own, we are rehoming some.

I have 4 barred rock hens and a roo as package, already laying. Going in to their second year of laying with many more years to go. Seventy 💵 for the package.

I have another 15-18 hens available as well. All heritage mixed breeds that will lay various colours of eggs from green, light green, blue, beige or speckled. 4 of them are pullets from this year, the rest are entering their second year of laying. Twenty per hen, will do deals on multiples.

Speckled Sussex hens are not for sale, I love them 😅

Delivery possible for a fee if you’re unable to pick up.

Message if interested or have any questions!

Update: all goats sold PPU!

We have doelings come available at the end of this month!

They are 3/4 Nigerian x 1/4 Boer.

They make an excellent small - medium milk goats (that’s their purpose on our homestead anyways).

Message for price and with questions ✌️

Pure English Angora yarn

Approx 330ft (give or take a couple feet cause miscounting)

Weighs 86g

Took me approximately 6-8 hours to spin with my drop spindle.

Fun fact - angora fibre is lighter than, however it can be up to 7 times WARMER than fleece. Not much in the natural world is as insulating and soft as angora fibre.

Typically angora fibre is blended with other fibres to make it easier to spin and to give it some elasticity. I enjoy spinning and crocheting it on its own though ☺️

Angora yarn is perfect for delicate items that are warm close to the skin and do not require a tight fit or structure my shape. It makes beautiful scarves, cowls, shawls and lightweight baby clothes ☺️

This whole skein is a gift for a friend, however I plan to make a few small balls and put them out at the stand and to bring to future markets 👌

If you’re interested in angora bunnies and all there is to know about their care and using their fibre please comment below or send me a message ☺️

ATTENTION Bunny lovers, fibre artists and gardeners!

I have 5 pure male English angoras (the first 5 bunnies pictured) and 1 angora x Rex mix with spinnable fibre available (last 3 pictures).

I was hoping for some sun to attempt better pictures but that doesn’t seem to be in the forecast and shearing time is coming up, so I figured I’ll make do and take some fluffy pictures before they’re all sheared!

Their fibre is over 3 inches long and starting to shed something fierce which is my sign it’s time to shear. As well with warmer weather coming (hopefully? 🤔) I want to keep my bunnies cool ☺️ heat and bunnies do not mix, shorter coats allows them to expel heat easier and cozy up to the frozen water bottles I put in their hutches when the temps go above 28C.

As you can see from the last picture, shearing has begun. The mixed guy must have been having a blast rolling around wherever he could because he was covered in little mats and knots. So I decided to shear him today before that little knots and mats turned in to big ones!

If you’re interested in a bunny or have any questions feel free to send a message ☺️
