Did you know that we grow 30+ culinary herbs? This week we’re highlighting our Cilantro

Cilantro is a super tasters worst nightmare and a regular person’s dream. Cilantro is an annual that goes to bloom then seed after roughly 6 weeks. You can leave it planted in your garden and the seeds will re-germinate and grow again all season. Occasionally the seeds will overwinter and can be the first things to start growing in the spring. Alternatively, you can harvest the seeds and use it as coriander in your spice cupboard.

Help us settle a debate; are these muskmelons (Team Mrs Fruit) or cantaloupes (Team Farmer Doug)??

Whatever you call them, we have them!

Our friends at Wrightland Farms (where you buy your asparagus) grow the sweetest, juiciest melons and we couldn’t resist. This is the only thing on the wagon that is not grown on our farm but at least it’s grown in the neighbourhood.

We still have peaches, apples, field tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, patty pan, gladioli & more!

A delicious time of the year - peaches, apples, tomatoes, oh my!

Our crew has had a few nice picks of peaches this week so we’ll have a good supply as we head into the weekend. We are picking Harrow Fair, Allstar, Coral Star amongst a few others. All of these are great for eating, canning, freezing, baking and more. They’ll need a few days to finish ripening before you can process them but they’re oh so sweet when you do.

Did you know that we grow 30+ culinary herbs? This week we’re highlighting our Marjoram!

Marjoram is a cousin of Oregano with the majority of its uses stems from French & Middle Eastern cooking. It’s a more delicate version of oregano with a slightly distinct flavour. It’s a sometimes perennial in our zone. It’s often used in spice blends such as Herb de Provence and Za’atar.
