Lang Pioneer Village Museum Explores Exciting New Chapter; Community Members Invited to Participate in New Transition Committee!
A recent service review highlighted opportunities to evolve how the Museum operates, expand its programming, and strengthen its connection to the community, including the possibility of transitioning to a non-profit operating model. A new structure could open doors to additional grant opportunities, helping to strengthen funding and support for the Museum’s future. To guide this important work, Peterborough County is establishing a transition committee that will help shape the next chapter of Lang Pioneer Village Museum.
Are you passionate about preserving local history and shaping the future of heritage in Peterborough County? As a member of the Committee, you will be reviewing possible opportunities for the County to transition from a County owned and operated museum to a not-for-profit organization.
What We’re Looking For:
👉Individuals with a strong interest or experience in governance, not-for-profit, legal, accounting, human resources, tourism, communications or public relations, etc.
Committee Responsibilities Include:
👉 Providing strategic advice and recommendations to County Council.
👉 Providing insight on long-term planning for the Museum.
Eligibility:
👉 Must be a resident of Peterborough County or have a strong connection to the region.
