I'm officially back from our mini holiday to Ontario, and other than locking myself in one of our chicken runs yesterday, I have a few quick updates!

🐣 Chicks - my last batch of 2026 is hatching this week! After current orders have been confirmed, I will release my overhatch on Friday May 29 through my website and will post on Facebook too.

πŸ₯š Because I was able to consolidate my June orders to earlier hatches, I do not have any further batches set for 2026. BUT I will be setting a personal batch of eggs from an Ontario breeder into the incubator this week. IF I do get any overhatch (June 20), I will have some available. The details of them right now are that there's a small batch of Ameraucana and Olive Eggers πŸ‘€

πŸ₯š Hatching eggs - I'm tempted to occasionally offer heavily discounted "BYM" hatching eggs until August, but will come with no guarantee on fertility, hatch rate, and breed types/mixes. Right now pens are torn down and without setting eggs weekly for myself I am no longer tracking fertility. DM if interested.

πŸ“ I currently have 1 Hmong rooster, and a boat-load of cockerels available shortly. Mostly cuckoo polish cockerels, maybe a few Fibro EE, and at least one Polish/Hmong cross who's quite adorable πŸ™ˆ They are a great age to integrate into flocks!

πŸ” Hens and Pullets - I currently do not have any additional hens or pullets available, but chances are good I'll have some between end of July to September. I need to wait and see what my grow outs are looking like before I do our final dispersal of the year! Sign up for notifications on my website for these ladies.

Listen, I know they look ridiculous, but this helps prevent our Polish getting bald spots (or helps them grow back) as they are all slowly integrated together.

Our small group of grow outs are being integrated together in the grow out coop. Surprisingly, it's the polish boys who are causing chaos instead of our other young cockerels.

The masking tape keeps their poofs out of their face while also protecting their heads, but isn't strong enough to permanently stick to their feathers. I find it lasts maybe a week before you need to retape. I used to use elastics, but found they didn't stay put.

HENS CLAIMED

I've updated my website this morning with my first round of hens available, but before I could even post here, over half of them have been spoken for and already picked up!

Here's what's left (updated again):
- 1 Fibro Easter Eggers (black or grey)
- 2 Welsummers

I also am thinking of letting go of our good-est Hmong rooster, Caesar. Our younger roo is starting to beat him up and with our hens being downsized for the summer while our grow outs mature, there won't be enough ladies to go around for both of them. I could be convinced to let our younger boy go instead, but realistically his coloring and strong pattern is only going to keep improving our generations even more so. Ceasar quite literally is the best tempered rooster. He's so kind to his girls and lets you handle the ladies without making a fuss. He's not a cuddly boy, but he also won't attack you or try anything.

Both him and the younger guy have lost the tips of their combs to frostbite and both have some feather loss on their necks from bickering. Neither of them are free and the younger one will definitely be more expensive than Caesar. DM to discuss these boys as I don't have them listed on my website.

🐣May 8 Overhatch 🐣

ALL CLAIMED

2 Evergreen Eggers
8 Wheaten Marans

I can't believe the amazing hatch rate of my Wheaten Maran that travelled all the way from BC. I bought 2 dozen hatching eggs even though I really only wanted 6-10 chicks with the purpose of adding some Marans influence into my Evergreen Egger lines. Becuase of this, I've got lots of them available!

All stock updated on my website to claim (including the Marans): https://www.cedarviewacres.ca/online-store
