On the weekend we had two weddings and one of them took us north to an island just south of North Bay.
The bride had a vision for contemporary sculptural florals and even had the beautiful clay vessels made for the florals.
Jenny Kuri and I had a great time adventuring to this island and creating the floral vision for the lovely couple who absolutely loved the florals.
Thanks to Cindy Biro Mahu for creating the beautiful boutonnières and corsages.

We’ve been quiet here on Facebook but anything but that on the farm. From flowers for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and all of life’s other moments where flowers are needed. Sometimes that’s flowers on the kitchen table.
July is the month that sets us up for the rest of the season. Plantings of our final successions are made, greenhouse beds are cleared and reseeded for Thanksgiving flowers and beds are weeded giving the plants room to breathe as they make their push towards flowering. I love this time as I feel prepared to enter August and September where we need flowers for weddings each week and all our other commitments. The gardens are lush and beautiful so the days will be full of flowers and beauty if all goes well.
This weekend we had the joyful task of transforming the lobby at Hidden Valley into a garden so guests of C & B’s wedding would be surrounded by beauty as soon as they arrived. We worked with the groom’s grandmother as she had a vision!
This wedding was a family affair and what a welcoming and supportive family.
The wedding took us between Huntsville and Bracebridge as the ceremony was in Bracebridge and we used some of the ceremony florals at the reception back at Hidden Valley so needless to say, we planned out our timing and mapped out our days!
A huge thanks to Jenny, Shannon and Cindy for bringing the vision to life and to Fern and Kate who had harvested beautiful blooms for us to use! It’s a team effort and I’m so fortunate to be surrounded and supported by these amazing women!

It’s hot! So hot that we are going to open the flower stand at 8:30 tomorrow and Saturday and close at noon. If you planned to stopped by later in the afternoon, let me know and I’ll have a bouquet waiting in the cooler for you! 💐

The flower stand is open today 10 - 4 and Saturday 10 - 2 with beautiful bouquets featuring our ranunculus and other spring blooms!
Despite the heat the ranunculus are amazing and the best crop of them I’ve ever grown. They are here for a good time, not a long time but they’ll keep blooming until peony season begins. That’s right around the corner, we are on peony watch with the rain and heat they are about to bloom!

It’s ranunculus harvest time on the farm and we’ll have bouquets with the juiciest ranunculus and the sweetest scented stock. Local flowers grown just for you.

Our first weddings of the season and the bright colourful palettes for both weddings brought the light to an overcast day.
Two lovely couples and we feel so grateful to be part of their day creating florals to bring that special beauty signifying something very meaningful is happening in this place at this time.
Huge thanks to Jenny, Shannon, Cindy and Becky for making the days run smoothly and to Fern for your support in the days leading up to the weddings. I’m incredibly grateful to this creative, fun, thoughtful and supportive group of women! A dream team!

We are sold out. My heart feels heavy not being able to get our beautiful flowers into the hands of everyone who wants to gift our blooms today but I’m so grateful to everyone who came out yesterday and Friday. My heart is full and perhaps that’s why it’s heavy…with gratitude.
The weather has not been on our side but on the bright side the end of next week looks beautiful!
To everyone who pre-ordered their bouquets, I have them here for you and look forward to seeing you today.
Enjoy celebrating the moms in your life today. I’m beyond grateful for my Mumsy and my mother-in-law, Marion. I couldn’t do this without their support and love. 🌷
