Fresh, organic, top-quality produce is grown in back/front yards and in vacant urban lots. Produce is then sold to local families, to restaurants and at local farmers' markets. Customers benefit from food that is higher in nutritional value and more flavourful than store-bought produce because of the short time between harvest and consumption. Customers also benefit from a clear conscience in purchasing food with a low carbon footprint and no herbicides or pesticides. Lastly, customers benefit from a strong relationship between food producer and consumer, which empowers the customer to be a part of the food production process.
