Need beach snacks for the weekend? I’ve got oatcakes and Rice Krispie squares… as well as a variety of breads, apple cake, blueberry coffee cake, muffins, cookies and cinnamon buns.

I also have lots of homemade goats milk soap, bath bombs, lip balms, clay face masks, candles etc..

The Tartan Gardens are very excited to announce our Zucchini Shindig a celebration for the whole community on Sunday, August 30th from 11am -1pm at the Judique Community Centre with a tour of the Tartan Garden available!

We will be providing treats for everyone at the Centre, lemonade, tea, coffee, hot dogs with condiments and a delicious zucchini relish to sample. Food of all things zucchini will also be available to taste, including pickles, appetizers, main dishes, soups, brownies, and pies, ...you name it and may be there. Anyone with a favourite recipe dish you would like to share and bring please let us know, it will be welcome.

The Shindig will also be full of fun for children with prizes for the young and the young at heart to celebrate the biggest zucchini, the best decorated and the best zucchini carving. So get growing, come and have fun!
If anyone needs a zucchini to decorate or to bake their creation for that day there will be extra available, so please let us know.

When you grow zucchini, you very quickly go from “Yay! Look I’ve got a zucchini!” to “What am I going to do with all this zucchini?!” Well, we’ve got you covered…with a new everything Zucchini cookbook.
There are so many possible options so we are also asking people to get involved and send in a recipe of your favourite zucchini dish.

All recipes can be sent to [email protected], recipes must be submitted by August 15th.

Your delicious recipes will be included in the cookbook which will be available for sale at the Shindig. Any funds raised from the sale of the books will go towards the Tartan Gardens and it's upkeep and you will have a cookbook full of new recipes and ideas. In case you haven't noticed the gardeners are already planting, decorating and preparing for the Shindig.

Looking forward to a wonderful day with lots of new recipes and delicious food for everyone to try.
