Hey folks, we need your help! 🌲 We are hosting our 'Bitters for Better Days' workshop this Saturday with Erica Fraser, a deeply rooted herbalist with a wealth of plant wisdom - but we are short on numbers. If we don’t get a few more participants registered by Thursday, May 21st, we will unfortunately have to cancel.

It’s going to be an absolutely beautiful afternoon as we gather in our stunning new workshop space, Butterfly Lodge, and discuss the incredible benefits of bitter greens.

You can help make this workshop happen by telling your friends, share this post, tag your favourite workshop buddy in the comments, or sign yourself up to spend a relaxing afternoon in the woods with us!

Join local herbalist Erica Fraser for Bitters for Better Days: An interactive class and herb walk exploring the benefits of bitter herbs and foods on Saturday, May 23rd from 1:30 - 3:30 pm $30/person.

There’s lots to feel bitter about these days- don’t let your digestive health be one of them, if you can help it!

During this workshop, Erica will take you on a deep dive on the benefits of bitter herbs and foods for digestion and overall wellbeing. Spoiler alert: she is on team dandelion, and will be encouraging you to focus less on eradicating them, and more on consuming them!

In this two-hour session, we’ll taste different bitter herbal preparations while discussing the details of what plants contain bitterness, how we perceive the bitter flavour, and what happens throughout the body when we do. We’ll go for a short walk and taste some wild greens around Butterfly Lodge, leaving you feeling refreshed and empowered to take the next step in reclaiming your sense of wellbeing through the simple practice of bringing bitters into your day-to-day.

You can contact us directly if you have any questions, or check out the link in the comments to register. Refreshments and snacks will be served during the workshop. Space is limited.

What a fabulous opening weekend we had in our beautiful Butterfly Lodge!

We hosted an Outdoor Mushroom Cultivation workshop on Saturday that was a huge hit for all…so grateful for Christian Hicks of Pizzeria Ascente for his knowledge and passion when it comes to the intricate beauty of the world of fungi. 🍄‍🟫

Then we spent Sunday morning with some lovely moms and their children, spouses, and in-laws on a goat walk in the woods with our playful goat kids in tow. We then enjoyed some refreshments in Butterfly Lodge along with some wonderful conversations and newly made connections.

Our weekend then ended with a private goat walk with a very lovely family, including a mom who got her Mother’s Day wish of cuddling a sweet baby goat! 🐐🚶‍♀️

We are so grateful to be able to provide these opportunities, within this stunning landscape, where people feel welcomed, comfortable, and relaxed. Sharing knowledge as a community and coming together in such a stunning forest setting is what feeds both of us and continues to remind us of the need for spaces like this, where people can gather and connect.

So thank you to everyone who came out this weekend and for those of you who continue to support us and this vision. We so appreciate you! 💜

Are you looking for a way to show the Mom in your life just how much she means to you, all while spending the morning walking with a herd of goats in the woods? Well if so, we've got you covered! But we only have a few spots left in our Special Mother's Day Goat Walk on Sunday, May 10th from 10:00 - 11:30 am.

Join us for an unforgettable morning as we walk along our trails in the forest with our herd of 24 goats, including the adorable new and bouncy goat kid gang. Our herd is incredibly friendly, approachable, and love a good scratch and snuggle. And the kids are a joy to watch and do, in fact, love a good snuggle.

After our walk, we will gather in Butterfly Lodge, taking in the beauty of the brook, birdsong, and surrounding greenery while we enjoy a hot beverage and some baked goods.

The cost for this event is $25/person, with children two and under free. Check out the link in the comments for more information and to register.

Outdoor Mushroom Cultivation Workshop!

We've been chatting with Christian Hicks, owner of both Pizzeria Ascente and a small outdoor culinary mushroom farm in Port Hood, about facilitating a mushroom workshop here at our farm since last year and we're finally set up to make it happen!

Have you been wanting to start your own outdoor mushroom cultivation, yet don't know where to begin? Well this is your opportunity to learn from one of the most passionate fungi enthusiasts we've ever had the pleasure of meeting!

This workshop will take place here at our farm in our beautiful brookside Butterfly Lodge on Saturday, May 9th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The cost to register is $75, which includes your own take-home inoculated shiitake log with care and fruiting instructions, as well as refreshments and appetizers.

If you'd like to learn more info about this hands-on workshop, as well as how to register, please check out the link in the comments. Space is limited.

If you have any questions, you can message us directly or send us an email to [email protected]

So we’ve got some names for the kids born so far.

Luna Moon’s black and white buckling is named Samuel (Sam for short) after Will’s paternal great grandfather, and her wee doeling, well we’re testing out the name Daisy…we’ll see if it sticks. 😊

Rosie’s robust black doeling is Molly, just like my beloved house duck who died a few years ago, and her very talkative buckling brother is Charles (Charlie for short - just like our most amazing neighbour.) 😉

These babies do the heart good. Feeling so darn grateful for baby goat cuddles and their bouncy shenanigans!! 💜
