We're proud to have worked with our community in the creation of a reforestation program that we hope will continue on for years to come.

The Crew has been putting in the extra hours to pull everything together and essentially transport an entire forest and everything that forest will need to start life on it's own, so we just might stand a chance of making it through the crisis we find ourselves in.

We thank you for placing your trust and faith in us, Kahnawake.
We wont let you down.

Its been a fine start to both the day and the week. Our first seasonal employee got the green light to start, I managed to get the company tshirts ordered and the 3 year pines appeared to have benefitted exceptionally from a long winter in their custom conifer soil mixture we repotted with in the fall.

I'll call this day a "win", overall.

Well, rabbit hunting has turned into a washout for the day and despite the noises in my belly, I decided to take a soggy stroll and inspect this year's inventory that has been earmarked to ship out in another 2 months and so far, the results are encouraging. Soon, the Tamarack will be turning that bright green and will be ready to go on the truck.

After a few thousand conifers ship, this year's crew will go ahead and start blending up the various soil mixtures and getting a couple thousand bags of leaf litter out of my sight and we can get back into production mode.

Admittedly, not *directly* related to our Farm Activities today, but if you were ever down for a warm day inside, good company and engaging in a discussion on trees, their role in the natural world, their medicines and maybe how you might be able to build a better understanding and relationship with them, April 15th just may be the day you were waiting for.

Presently attending a 4 day conference on soil health and didnt realize that the man in the suit next to me, whom I exchanged knowing smirks with a few times was Joel Salatin, arguably the world's most famous farmer.

Initially, I was thinking he sort of reminded me of the guy that plays Frazier (Kelsey Grammer), until the host called out the name Joel Salatin and he got up to speak.

Don't judge me. I'm the same guy that won't recognize you if you're wearing a new hat or driving a different car.

We'll soon be scouting for young talent with a true interest in agriculture who are considering spending the Summer 2019 Season working in the great outdoors in a culturally relevant environment. Must be mobile, physically capable and with a vigorous work ethic and strong communication skills.

Every forest has it's origins in a handful of seeds that fought hard to become trees. Depending on the year, we can trace back the majority of our trees to the place where they were gathered as seeds, before spending the next 3-4 years as seedlings under our protection and care.
