Important Announcement 📣
Bison; Land Rehabilitation Project
We at Stanley Hill Bison are excited to announce the beginning of our new phase of bison farming.
Back in 2016 we began the ground work of our bison vision. Over the past 10 years the bison have given us many lessons of strength and endurance. They have taught us to be patient and respectful of the ground they inhabit.
The bison have given us the opportunity to see what they are capable of in terms of meeting the nutritional needs of our bison consumers as well as the ecological benefits of the land they graze upon.
As we have observed our herd over the years, we imagined what a larger scale bison rehabilitation project would mean to our community and environment.
Our bold persistence has positioned us to acquire an end of life gravel pit and give the bison the opportunity to show us what they are truly capable of.
The first phase of this project is the most fragile. It involves rehabilitating the physical landscape to support the introduction of the bison.
We ask our community to be patient with us during this phase as it is very labour intensive and emotionally challenging.
We are excited to provide updates when they are available. We ask that the land be respected by our community members, after all, Respect is what the bison teach.
