We are pleased to welcome delegates, researchers, practitioners, knowledge holders, and community partners attending Fire in a Changing World: Wildfire Symposium, hosted by Thompson Rivers University (TRU) and the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC).

As wildfire regimes continue to shift at unprecedented rates across British Columbia and around the world, this symposium brings together diverse perspectives to explore the complex challenges and opportunities presented by our changing relationship with fire. Through collaboration, discussion, and knowledge sharing, participants will examine how changing climates, land-use practices, governance frameworks, and community responses are shaping the future of wildfire management and resilience.

This July, students from across Canada came together to explore STEAM learning, experience university life, tackle exciting challenges, and create unforgettable memories in the heart of BC's Interior. From innovative projects to new friendships and outdoor adventures, it was inspiring to watch these future leaders grow and thrive.

We're proud to play a small part in bringing this remarkable program to life each year. Thanks to the SHAD community for another phenomenal summer at TRU!
