🧡 Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We take this day to remember the children who never came home, honour the survivors, and listen to the families and communities still carrying the impact of residential schools.

Reconciliation is not one day. It is something we practice through how we listen, how we work together, and how we build relationships that are rooted in respect.

We look ahead with hope to a future where Indigenous communities are thriving, cultures and languages are strong, and the next generation grows up with opportunity and pride in who they are.

We are grateful to work alongside so many Indigenous fisheries, whose connection to the water and the salmon has sustained their people for generations, and we are committed to supporting the strong, self determined future they are building. 🧡

We're thrilled to share that Hardy Buoys Smoked Fish Inc. has officially transitioned to Indigenous ownership.

This partnership brings together Kwakiutl Nation Development Corporation, Upper Fraser Indigenous Sustainable Harvesters, and Authentic Indigenous Seafood as General Partner. It's a milestone moment for our network and reflects our shared commitment to economic self-determination and strengthening Indigenous participation across Canada's seafood value chains.

Hardy Buoys will continue operating with the same quality and community presence you know, while we build toward long-term growth, resilience for our member fisheries, and meaningful work opportunities for Indigenous communities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the celebration in Port Hardy on March 19. This is just the beginning.
