Not quite the summer homecoming we had hoped for. Almost 6 weeks away. Crops dead, mice moved in, rot and leaks and broken pumps to deal with. Thankful our animals are ok and our chickens are alive and for our safety during this time but what a friggin week this was.

Trying to jump into fall without the summer time we normally use to prep and downsize, is overwhelming to say the least.

Finding mice every day, have to clean every surface of every room. We are gutting and tossing lots of stuff but that’s ok.

Here’s some cute critters while I sort through our mess. I have lots of puppy and critter footage but no time to edit or upload it.

Love everyone so much for the support, love, checkins, and the biggest love sent to Tina Maynard for housing our entire family with such grace and acceptance. As we find ourselves transitioning our way back into our own farm, there are no words to express how thankful I am for our host and her son for allowing us such a huge gift of safety for SO long. Thank you so much Tina and Justin! ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Ok Starter pen for Pups set up at home! Woodshed where it’s airy, but sheltered. Will add heat lamp, heated dog bed & more shelter as fall crisps up. We will extend fencing as pups grow and need more space. Yay for puppy pen just in time for them to figure out how legs work! ❤️‍🩹

All dogs and cats are now home 🫶🏼

As I stand in this silent forest, surrounded by only critter sounds, I am very excited for a fall of animals and critter care…. And winter prep begins too, goodness knows it will be winter in the blink of an eye. I understand myself and my mental health better. Understand your mental needs so you can choose a lifestyle that you feel safe in 🩷🩷🩷
