For all looking for those dark egg marans! I just wanted to show you guys the importance of asking people for colour card in photos. As I used my photo edit button to adjust the look of the second photo. Only way to truly know how dark the eggs are is to compare with chart as it changes when you doctor your photos at same rate. If it looks to good to be true it normally is.

Some of this years new hens are starting to lay.. very excited to see how they all turn out. Got some good 7-8 hens. Hope the rest turn out this dark.

It’s nice when the black coppers start their season at an 8 and at 6 months in they are still a 6 for darkness of the eggs. The black copper marans egg colour fluctuate during their cycles, dark at the beginning and get lighter as the season continues.
