🌤HAPPY LONG WEEKEND🌤

Its going to be a busy busy weekend around the farm here, thanks to the beautiful sunshine that's finally shown up!

If you've been thinking about joining our CSA, we have great news! We've decided to open a few more spaces to welcome more of you into the FarmILY.

Not sure what a CSA is? Let Us Tell You:
🌱CSA: Community Supported Agriculture ~ a direct connection between the consumer and the folks who grow the food
🍓How it Works:
🍅Payment for the season is paid in full up front, or half up front/half at season start ($412.50/15 weeks of great local food!)
🥒Members receive weekly emails BEFORE CSA day, listing what's in the share for the week, with opportunities for switches and top ups. They also receive digital Newsletters on CSA day which include stories of our week and new recipes to try, using the items in the share that week.
🧄 Members swing out to the farm and pick up their shares, have some great laughs and enjoy being part of something much more connected than just a run through the produce isle.

CSA has allowed us to grow and develop our produce operation in ways that connect us more to our community and customers. Its been the best thing, and we'd love to share that with you.

The Lambs are back in town!!!

It’s been a couple years since we’ve have the joyful stewardship of newborn lambs on our farm.

Over the course of 3 weeks, we watched our Mummas deliver their lambs; both with major success and some major trials.

We sat in the early, quiet hours of the day.
We watched in the dwindling light of the evening.
And all the while, new life just ticked along with so much hope and determination.

Georgia and Sawyer have grown so much through this all.

From the panicked after school calls that there’s a mum in labour, to quietly and efficiently helping with morning chores so that they can cuddle their favourite lambs and future 4H prospects, they have really leaned into this life, and well… it’s so much more than we could have hoped for.

🌱We keep our CSA small for a reason
We average about 25 members/shares per season. We are a small operation, planting about 1.5 acres of produce in our garden. This helps to keep the connection between us, the Producers, and you, the Consumers, small and closely tied.
🍁 We communicate with our members... A LOT!
Weekly emails are sent out prior to pick up days. In these, members are told what they will be receiving for that week, and are given the chance to 'swap' items or 'top up' if they'd like more of something that we have. On Pick Up Days, a 'Deer Run Times' Newsletter is sent out, with stories of our week on the farm, as well as recipes for members to try out, using the ingredients included in that week.
🍅 We LOVE what we do
We share recipes, stories, successes and trials with our members. We are more than just a 'veggie pick up'. We are a shared experience of the growing season in our little community that we call home!

Heyyo everyone!!

If you’ve been ‘snootin’ around our pages and wondering why things have been so quiet lately, well… winter, that’s why!
Between enjoying the holidays with friends and family, back to school and the inevitable colds that come with that, we’ve had an okayish start to 2026🎉❄️

But as the days are getting longer and the sun a little warmer, our excitement for the syrup and growing seasons are warming up too!

We are all set up, upstairs at the Little Britain arena for the Mariposa Lightning Vendor Craft Show💚💛

Come see us, 10-4pm and stock up on syrup, pickles and garlic

LITTLE BRITAIN: Come visit us SATURDAY, December 6th upstairs at the Little Britain Arena for the vendor show in support of Mariposa Lightning Hockey Association (elevator in building)

ONLINE: We have restocked the Online Market with Maple Syrup, Fresh Eggs, Chippy Dill Pickles and GARLIC! www.deerrunfarm.ca

🍁Maple Syrup is ALMOST sold out- we have a limited supply, which we are reserving for the Dec 6th show. Remaining syrup will be posted to the website following the sale, but if you would really like some and can't make it, send us a DM.
🥒CHIPPY Dill Pickles: The ultimate hostess gift, our pickles are famously good. Suggestion? Don't just order one jar; make it two because these are going to sell fast!
🧄GARLIC: We have a limited amount of great, smaller sized garlic perfect for storing over the winter. Available in small or bulk quantities
