Wow! So honored to have been chosen for One Of A Kind Show 's Community Impact Award from 😊
Supporting local has always been at the heart of Taste of the Okanagan. Since our creation, we have worked hard to give back to our community in a variety of ways. From supporting small local farms with our purchasing, to donating product, money and time to various organizations. We believe that being successful is about more than just our bottom line, it’s about becoming involved, listening to our customers and creating a positive impact in our community.
We are proud to support a variety of local charities, such as the Central Okanagan Food Bank and the Central Okanagan Hospice Association, but we are most proud of two initiatives in particular:
The first, is our collaboration with National charitable organization, Together we created a Rosé Wine Jelly with local Okanagan Wine and pink peppercorns. $1.00 from the sale of every jar is donated to Mamas for Mamas, who in turn use the funds to support individuals and families facing poverty related struggles throughout the community. This is an ongoing initiative that we are so proud to continue year after year.
The second is our involvement with . Kelly sits on the Board of Directors of this non-profit, edible education program, that seeks to teach children in our community how to grow, cook and eat local foods.
Things have been tough for small businesses the last few years, but we believe that's all the more reason to get involved. We believe that doing these things is part of being a responsible business and a caring community member.
