It’s market day in
We’re sampling all things UMAMI Crave the Fifth and have endless ideas to share for easy, crave-worthy meals.
Corn for a Cause is happening today;your donation for a cob of corn will be used to support those affected by wildfires in our region.
Peach season is well underway and please forgive us for talking endlessly about our Curried Maple Peach and Corn Pizza…we’re a little obsessed (okay, a lot) but the season is short so don’t miss out!

All year long, we look forward to peach season. We love UMAMI Curried Maple Dressing and Everything Sauce paired with many things, but few are as divine as pairing it with fresh Okanagan peaches. Swipe left to see a couple of our favorites: UMAMI Curried Maple Grilled Peach and Corn Pizza and introducing the Zelaney salad, named for the crispest spinach and sweetest carrots grown by Rachelle Zelaney | Farmer . The best part? You can find the ingredients for both of these dishes today until 1 pm at the Kelowna Farmers Market (Joanna is in the District Market if you need to get sauced).

Farmers throughout the Okanagan and beyond are struggling with drought and wildfires right now…PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE buy local, fresh produce whenever you can!
Our friends Rachelle Zelaney | Farmer were looking at sacrificing crops due to lack of water, but the farming community rallied in support by sharing water allocations with them. Not a farmer? That’s okay! Zelaney Farms has an abundance of broccoli, just like this one that Michela is holding. Chop it, freeze it, salad it, roast it (maybe in a little UMAMI Curried Maple or Chipotle Caesar?), dip it, or use it in a bouquet! Visit their farm store in Coldstream any day or on Saturday Kelowna Farmers' Market or Monday Vernon Farmers Market.

Whole Foods Market Canada is celebrating Canadian brands right now and UMAMI Crave the Fifth is one of them! We’re doing a little roadshow to Vancouver and we would love to share our gluten-free and plant-based dressing and everything sauces and our ready to cook Power Bowl mixes with you!
If you have a barbecue, UMAMI is a perfect pairing for anything that comes off of the grill!

Paynter’s Fruit Market is a West Kelowna destination for local BC made products, including all of ours!
They’ve got it all: coffee, ice cream, fruit, vegetables, frozen goods, dips, pizza, jellies and jams, locally made bread… the list is endless.
To top if off, Farmer Jennay is THE coolest and leads a team of equally cool people. Check them out: they are just off of Highway 97 and easy to access if you’re travelling to or from the Lower Mainland.

It’s officially summer so the grill is fired and meals are fresh and easy…our UMAMI Crave the Fifth Power Bowls are the perfect side for whatever you’ve got on the ‘cue.

Choose the savory Harvest Feast, the Mexican inspired Ensalada Fresca or the mild Indian inspired Garam Masala. Quinoa, rice or millet and amaranth paired with dehydrated vegetables and a unique spice blend in each, these mixes cook just like rice with a 4 cup yield per pouch that expands with the addition of fresh vegetables. Serve it hot or cold, prepare today and freeze for later (camping, anyone?).

It’s market day!
Weare at the Kelowna Farmers Market today and it is a beautiful day to get out and support local vendors. There are an abundance of fresh flowers and produce and coffee and well, you name it, It’s here.
With this gorgeous weather, there’s no doubt you are barbecuing this weekend. If you are, you want to have one of our Umami Crave the Fifth Power Mixes because they are easy to prepare (cook like rice), delicious and go perfectly with whatever you’re taking off of the grill!
