As we head into the Labour Day long weekend here in Canada, a moment for some of our hardest workers on site - AND their equally hard-working caretakers from Arlo's Honey Farm. These bees are crucial to the health of our acreage and we love seeing them out foraging in our cover crops and gardens. 🐝 ❤️

We’re open all long weekend from 11am to 6pm - it sure is a stunning time in the valley to savour.

Last week, we shared that 100% of our tasting fees from August 14–21 would be donated to wildfire relief efforts across the Okanagan and today we’re proud to share that through guest visits we raised $8,400!

We wanted to extend a big, heartfelt thank you to everyone who came by, brought friends, shared our message, and helped us turn a week of tastings into meaningful support.

We’ll be splitting the donation equally between two organizations supporting communities directly affected by this summer’s wildfires:

$4,200 to the En’owkin Centre / Okanagan Indian Educational Resources Society (OIERS), supporting emergency assistance for affected members of the Okanagan Indian Band and En’owkin staff and students from the Penticton Indian Band.

$4,200 to the SOS Wildfire Response Fund (Community Foundation of South Okanagan Similkameen), supporting communities and residents impacted by wildfires in the Summerland and Garnett and Faulker Valley regions.

The Okanagan is home to our winery, our team, our families and our community, and we’re proud to be able to contribute in a small way during an incredibly difficult summer.

Our hearts remain with everyone who has been affected, displaced, or is continuing to navigate the aftermath of these fires. ❤️

We’re donating 100% of our tasting fees from August 14th to 21st to support wildfire relief efforts here in the Okanagan. Funds will be directed to the En’owkin Centre and Okanagan Indian Band Emergency Relief, as well as the SOS Wildfire Response Fund, supporting evacuees, displaced families and community recovery following the Quilpituk Creek and Bald Range fires.
It’s been incredible to see our region’s communities mobilize over the past month.

Hat’s off to our winery and hospitality friends who are navigating tourism challenges while continuing to show up for their communities.

Locals, if you’re able, this is a great time to get out, explore, and support the businesses that make our region what it is.

As the wildfire situation continues to unfold across the Okanagan, we’re taking things day-by-day here at Tantalus. Our hearts are with those who have lost their homes, farms and businesses. ❤️‍🩹

For the coming week, we’ll be donating 100% of tasting fees to two organizations: En’owkin Centre & Okanagan Indian Band Emergency Relief and the SOS (South Okanagan Similkameen) Wildfire Response Fund to aid their efforts in supporting evacuees and displaced families from both the Quilpituk (Bradley Creek) and Bald Range fires. Funds raised by both orgs will flow directly to community response and recovery.
The past few days have brought clear skies and beautiful conditions to Kelowna, but we know things can change. We’ll continue to monitor air quality and make decisions about our patio and tasting room each day, with the comfort and safety of our guests and team in mind.

For now, we’re grateful to be able to welcome you here, and to put your tasting fees toward two local organizations doing such important work to help those in immediate need. If you’ve been considering a visit - now is a good time to help us raise some funds! Open daily from 11am to 6pm.

As many across the country know, our friends and colleagues in the Summerland wine community are facing an incredibly difficult time right now. ❤️‍🩹

If you’re looking for a small way to help, consider seeking out wines (and amazing ciders, beer and spirits, too) from Summerland producers in the weeks ahead. The Summerland’s Bottleneck Drive is a great place to discover the producers that call the area home - and we’ve tagged as many as we could here too!

While many tasting rooms and wineries aren’t currently able to fulfill orders directly, many producers have products safely stored in the Lower Mainland, Alberta and other Canadian markets, and are able to continue selling through their wholesale channels. (Or place an online order - with patience for when the time comes that they are able to fulfill it). If you’re shopping for a bottle, ordering at a restaurant or simply choosing what to open at home, keep a Summerland producer in mind.

Every bottle purchased is a small but meaningful way to support the people, families and businesses that make up the beautiful communities of Summerland and the Faulder and Garnet Valleys.

Our entire team is thinking of all those in BC and across Canada facing the impacts of the wildfires right now. We are with you. ❤️

A big congratulations to winemaker Dave Paterson, vineyard manager Scott Woody and our entire growing and winemaking teams on the recent results from the 2026 National Wine Awards of Canada.

This year, Tantalus was named one of BC’s Top 10 Wineries, with three Gold, two Silver and two Bronze medals awarded across our portfolio. With nearly 1,800 wines entered from 250 wineries across the country, it’s a privilege to be recognized alongside such a talented group of Canadian producers.

After the challenges of the 2023 and 2024 growing seasons, we had a much smaller group of wines to enter this year, making these results feel especially rewarding. We’re proud of what these wines represent and grateful to see the care and dedication of our crews recognized.

Congratulations to all of our Canadian wine colleagues on such a strong showing this year. 🇨🇦 🥂
