A few friendly reminders:
🌾 Preorders:
All preorders must be placed through our preorder site (linked in our bio). We’re unable to keep track of orders sent through DMs or email across multiple platforms, so using the preorder site helps ensure nothing gets missed.
All preorders must be paid in full in advance and picked up at the farm stand.

🌾 Farm Stand Updates:
We share frequent updates in our Stories, including when we’re open, what’s being restocked, and what you can expect at the stand. We kindly ask that you watch for these updates rather than coming to the house looking for products.
This helps us maintain a little privacy while running a business from our yard - and lets our little one enjoy uninterrupted nap time. 😊
We also don’t keep extra products in the house; everything currently available is already out on the shelves.

🌾 Chicken Coop:
You’ll notice we’ve added a fence to the property this season to help discourage visitors from entering the backyard.
Please remember there is an ankle-height electric fence installed to help protect our flock from wildlife (including bears). For everyone’s safety, please do not open the gate or enter the coop area. We cannot accept responsibility for injuries resulting from entering the fenced area.

🐓 Our chickens are free-ranging this season, though, so if one wanders over to say hello at the farm stand, feel free to give them a gentle pat!

✨ Have you ever heard of the natural phenomenon known as a fairy egg? 🥚

Every now and then, one of our hens lays something a little unexpected! A fairy egg (also called a wind egg) is a tiny egg that forms without a yolk. It happens when there’s a little hiccup in the hen’s reproductive system while an egg is forming.

Since we have some older girls in our flock, we occasionally get some pretty wacky eggs! 😂 From double yolks and unusual shapes to tiny fairy eggs like this one, our hens definitely keep things interesting.

They may look unusual, but these little eggs are a completely natural occurrence and just one of the fun surprises that comes with having a flock of our own. 💛

There really is something special about slowing down.

Every loaf of our sourdough is made the old-fashioned way - just flour, water, salt, and time.
No shortcuts, no preservatives, no unnecessary ingredients.
We mix it by hand, ferment it slowly, shape every loaf ourselves, and bake it fresh for your table.

That long fermentation isn’t just about creating incredible flavour and texture. It also helps break down some of the gluten and phytic acid naturally found in flour, making the bread easier for many people to digest while allowing your body to better absorb nutrients.

When was the last time you were triple dog dared? 😉

Shopping small and supporting local does so much more than fill your pantry with fresh, homemade products. It keeps your dollars in your community, supports local families, and helps small businesses continue doing what they love.

That said, we also wanted to share something that’s been weighing on our hearts ⬇️

This season, there has been a noticeable increase in theft and dishonesty at self-serve farm stands.
Sadly, our own stand experienced theft on Canada Day, and after sharing about it, dozens of fellow farm stand owners reached out to say they had experienced similar situations this season.

Our farm stand, like so many others, runs on trust. Every loaf of bread, jar of jam and bag of cookies represents hours of work by a real family, not a factory.

👉 We kindly ask that everyone remember our prices are not suggestions - they’re the amount we need to charge to keep our stand stocked, our farm growing, and our small business sustainable.
Honesty from our customers is what allows self-serve farm stands like ours to exist.

To every single person who stops by, pays honestly, leaves kind notes, waves as they drive by, and chooses to shop local - thank you. Your support means more than you’ll ever know.

🥚♻️ A Friendly Reminder About Egg Carton & Jar Returns ♻️🥚

Did you know that you can return your gently used Golden Yolk egg cartons and glass jars to the farm stand?
Not only does reusing packaging help reduce waste, but it also helps us keep the cost of our products down.
In fact, a single Golden Yolk egg carton costs us just under $1.00 to purchase, so every carton returned makes a difference!

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been dropping off cartons lately. We truly appreciate it. ❤️

👉 That said, we’re only able to reuse cartons that have the Golden Yolk logo on them. As a business with a recognizable brand, we’re unable to sell our eggs in cartons from other farms (for example, Nova Eggs cartons), just as they wouldn’t be able to use ours.

❌ This past weekend alone, we received more than 30 cartons that we unfortunately can’t use.
Rather than seeing them go to waste, we’d love to pass them along to local homesteaders or backyard chicken keepers. If that’s you, send us a message and we’d be happy to connect you with some cartons!

Give the dad in your life something he’ll actually love.

A few things I’d be gifting the dads in my life:

With 18 different jams and jellies to choose from, there’s truly something for everyone. Pair a sweet favourite with a savoury option and let him decide which one disappears first.

Maybe it’s the nostalgia of a classic chocolate chip, the comfort of a homemade oatmeal cream pie, or the excitement of discovering a new favourite. Whatever your cookie style, these are some of the flavours our customers reach for again and again.

There truly is something for everyone in the jam section of our farm stand shelves 🍓✨

Fun fact: my jam obsession is actually part of the reason this farm stand exists in the first place. What started as “a few jars here and there” quickly turned into kitchen cabinets overflowing with jam 😅
My husband finally said we either needed to slow down… or find a way to share them.

Now here we are - 18 flavours later - and you all love these jams just as much as I love making them. Which honestly just gives me an excuse to keep creating more funky flavours, more seasonal batches, and more jars than any one household probably needs 😂
