When I first opened The Golden Yolk, I knew there would be a lot of baking involved… but nobody warned me about the amount of time that would go into running the social media side of things. 🫠

Between planning menus, baking for hours, filming content, editing reels, scheduling posts, answering emails and DMs, and trying to keep up with all the latest trends, there are so many unseen hours that go into running this little business every week.

But honestly? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. 🤎 Watching this little dream grow, connecting with our community, and getting to do something I genuinely love makes all the behind-the-scenes chaos worth it.
And to everyone who has stumbled across my page, watched a reel, shared a post, and eventually decided to stop by the farm stand - THANK YOU. 🥹

Every follow, share, purchase, and kind word helps this little business grow more than you know. I’m so grateful you’re here!

There’s nothing quite like seeing all your hard work from the week finally lining the farm stand shelves.
🥹💛

Before we kick off the Thanksgiving long weekend, I just want to say thank you to everyone who placed a preorder this week, and to everyone planning to stop by the farm stand over the next three days.
It’s truly an honour and a privilege to be a small part of your holiday celebrations.

I’m feeling extra thankful for my customers - the regulars, the new faces, and everyone in between - who make this little dream of being a stay-at-home mom while running a business possible. 🥹

Okay, enough of the cheesy stuff. 😂

🍂 Our hours are changing! 🍂

The days are getting shorter, and so are our farm stand hours. From now until the end of the season, we’ll be closing by 6 PM on Saturdays and once we sell out of baked goods on Sundays.
Baked products will not be restocked, once we sell out we are done for the weekend.

👉 We’ve also been getting lots of questions about what happens over the winter, so here’s the scoop! 👇
Our farm stand is not winterized, which means we aren’t able to stay open year-round.
However, our website will remain open and accepting preorders for pickup throughout the winter, from the time we close for the season until we reopen in the spring. 🤎

We have a dedicated post pinned to our page that walks you through exactly how to place an order for pickup through our website.
But, as always, if you have any questions, please feel free to send us a message!

I figured if they’re going to spend all day pecking at things anyway, I might as well put them to work! I think this pumpkin turned out pretty cute… although their decorating technique could use a little work. 😂

👉 Preorders are the only way to guarantee you get the goodies you have your eye on. They also help me keep everything organized, make sure nothing gets missed, and give me the time I need to have your order baked, packed & ready for you!

And a little heads up… 👀
When our physical farm stand closes for the season in a few months, we’ll be switching to preorder only!
That means you can still get your Golden Yolk goodies all winter long - you’ll just need to place a preorder for pickup. 🍞🥚🍪

A little glance into our couple-acre homestead dream 🤎🌱

A lot of baking, a little gardening, happy chickens, farm fresh eggs, and the sweetest part of it all - getting to do this while raising our little girl.

It’s messy, busy, and definitely a work in progress, but we’re so grateful this is the life we get to build.

It really doesn’t get fresher than this. 🥚🤎

From the coop → washed → packed → straight into the cooler at the farm stand. That’s about as fresh as your eggs can get!

👉 A little reminder about our farm fresh eggs: our chickens are housed as a barnyard mix, which means every carton is going to be a little different.
You’ll find a mix of white, brown, and every colour in between - and every now and then, a few eggs that are a little funky looking. 😂

But they’re all fresh, all delicious, and all laid with love. 🐔🤍

🍞 And while you’re here, don’t forget to grab some freshly baked sourdough bread + cookies, along with our homemade preserves made with locally sourced fruits and vegetables.

Do you see something you’ve grabbed from the farm stand lately?? 🛍️
It feels like my life is a never ending loop of bread and cookies, I love it.

I’m trying to get better at taking pictures - not just of the things I make but also of just regular, every day life. I’m getting slightly better at it.
My camera roll is full of baked goods, jam, eggs and gummy baby smiles right now. It’s going to be so much fun looking back at these photos in a year or so and seeing how much I’ve changed, how much my daughter has grown, what I was obsessed with baking and what new things I’ve come up with.
