A New Year is a time to learn New Things! Over the past several years, I have come to realize that you cannot align the success of markets solely on financials. There are so many more factors to consider. Relationships are made with neighbouring makers (and I ALWAYS have the best neighbours!), connections are made (somebody always knows somebody!), and there are always so many beautiful conversations! During one of my 2025 markets, a brief conversation turned into an incredible opportunity. Through a series of events, I was asked if I would be interested in a floor loom. I have always used rigid heddle looms, as I have been intimidated by the floor looms. There was an incredible weaver who no longer could utilize their looms and their family gave me the opportunity to give them new life. Over the last month, I have read, looked on Youtube, and signed up for online classes. Last weekend I warped the loom for the first time and started to weave. Mistakes made, lessons learned, and I am understanding more and more each day. Oh and by the way, there wasn't one loom, or even two......I ended up with three beautiful looms! The one in the picture is the baby! I am waiting for hubby to build me a studio addition to the house so I can set up the two big ones! lol Thank you so much to this incredible family!
