What on earth do you do with the body of your child? Do you hoard it in a box, the last precious remnants of a person you literally built inside your body? The ache in my hip from the calcium it took to give you while your bones were growing. The sag of my breasts from 4 years of nourishing you from them. The body I sweat, screamed and bled for. The body my whole life was set to protect. Is now a pile of ashes in a box. But just like Kale doesn’t belong in a graveyard with a bunch of dead old people, he also doesn’t belong in a box. He wants to be part of the world he loved so much, and all the places that give him life. So far, we have tucked parts of him into the sand at Tofino, our favourite campsites and jumping spots at Ivy Lea, our picnic spot at Round Lake. Now, my heart and his ashes also live in the sand at Hanlan’s Point, where q***r history and q***r joy dance in jubilation. May he too dance forever in jubilation at his freedom.

It’s here!! Our next Buy Nothing Event is September 5th from 12-4 at 89 Colborne st.
Not familiar? It’s a huge neighbourhood event that’s like a giant garage sale, but everything is free! Free lunch, free clothing and household items, chances to meet your neighbours and get involved in your community. It’s just the best day!
Want to get involved?
❤️Volunteer! We have lots of space for folks to help set up and take down, distribute items after the event, help prepare and serve lunch and more!
🧥👖👟👜🎩 Donate your *good to excellent* condition items (clothing, housewares, books toys and games) before hand, Friday the 4th from 3-6 or Saturday the 5th 9-12 at the back entrance of 89 Colborne (look for the huge animal cutouts).

Oh hey cuties! We’re back in town this weekend for Memorial Centre Farmers’ Market Sunday from 9-2. We’ve got “meat” on a stick that had the crowds raving last weekend, we’ve got Ontario peach gf frangipane tarte, we’ve got luscious dark chocolate zucchini cake touted as “one of the best I’ve ever had” by over one person! There will be breakfast sandos with bacon, and probably some other sexy sando. See you soon!
