It was a busy weekend around the farm.

First, a pallet of blueberry boxes arrived, so we are officially ready for berry season when the berries decide they are ready for us.

We also welcomed 500 new blueberry bushes. If you’ve ever wondered what a 10% blueberry expansion looks like, this is it. These plants will eventually add to both our U-pick and pre-picked production.

The bushes are planted, the irrigation is in, and most of them have had their first drink. Yes, rain was in the forecast, but after being let down by weather forecasts before, we decided not to leave it to chance. The irrigation was only used to test the system and help the plants get settled in. Nothing wasted here.

Then came a nice soaking rain to finish the job.

We even ended up with a few extra plants. They have been potted up, but before anyone asks, they’re not for sale. Every farm needs a few spare blueberries waiting in the bullpen.

This weekend’s project is getting the mulch down around them. After that, the new area will be roped off for the season while these youngsters get established.

No berries from this crew for a couple of years. Right now they’re all roots, leaves, and expensive optimism, but one day they’ll be helping fill your buckets and berry boxes.

It looks like the cold weather has finally loosened its grip on the asparagus, and the patch is starting to make a comeback!

One of the photos shows some of the frost damage (although it doesn’t quite capture how hard the cold hit). We’ve spent the last couple of days giving the asparagus a haircut and cutting out the damaged spears so the healthy ones can take over.

We’re hoping to have more asparagus available soon, but it’s been another slow start to the season. Thanks for your patience while Mother Nature keeps us guessing!

And before anyone asks
this batch is already spoken for. The asparagus had reservations before it even made it out of the field.

Apple blossom season is one of our favorite times of year.

The orchard is bursting with blooms today, the bees are hard at work, and the sweet fragrance fills the air.

Every blossom is a promise of apples to come. For now, we’re simply enjoying the beauty of the season.

06/06/2026

If only videos came with smell-o-vision!

The apple blossoms are in full bloom, and the orchard smells absolutely amazing right now. Sweet, fresh, and just a little magical.

These blossoms are more than just beautiful—they’re the first step toward the apples we’ll be picking later this season. Until then, we’ll be soaking in the view, the fragrance, and the busy hum of the bees.

Nature is putting on quite the show.

The gnomes are hiding in the rhubarb, and apparently they’ve been negotiating behind our backs.

Fresh rhubarb is now available at Crapaud General Store - Crapaud, PE!

We know our farm hours aren’t always convenient, so we’re excited to have another spot where you can grab some rhubarb. The gnomes claim it was their idea. We’re not arguing with results.

Happy rhubarb hunting season!

What’s in a name?

When we sold The Olde MacKenzie Farm, we wanted to keep the name. But since this property is just down the road and had never been The Olde MacKenzie Farm, we figured confusing everyone wasn’t the best plan.

So we became Triple Creek Farm.

Partly because there are three of us involved, including Olivia. But also because there are actually three separate creeks on the property.

The first two are easy enough to get to. The third one is a little more adventurous. It’s not very accessible, so we only make the trek back there a couple of times a year.

Today was one of those days.

Here are photos of all three creeks. And before anyone asks, no, it isn’t one creek making a grand tour of the property. They really are three different creeks.

After all, calling it Triple Creek Farm and only having one creek would be awkward.

Which one would you choose as your favourite?

Well it’s 5°C and wet.
The blueberry blossoms are out
and one pic is of the tart cherry blossoms. Hopefully we get some warmth and sunshine so the bees can pollinate, because honestly, if I don’t want to be outside, I’m pretty sure the bees don’t either.

Sitting in the house with a fire going at the end of May just doesn’t seem right.
Mother Nature seems a little confused this year.

Last chance to sign up for this year’s Early Bird Email list.

Yes
it’s a new signup every year.
No
 we don’t spam you.

We usually only send 1–2 emails each season, and subscribers hear from us before we post on Facebook. Last year, we were nearly half sold out before our FB post even went up.

We close the list at the end of the month so we can keep harvest season focused on picking berries instead of extra admin work.

If you want the early heads-up this season, now’s the time to sign up.

Feel free to share this with fellow berry lovers, and make sure to like and follow our post and page for farm updates throughout the season.

Well
the asparagus has informed us it would like a little more warmth before making another appearance.

With these cold temperatures, we won’t have asparagus available Sunday as we had hoped. Stay tuned for updates once it starts catching up again.

Apparently we’ve been selling it faster than it can grow lately. Not a bad problem to have, but the field needs a chance to breathe a little too.

BREAKING NEWS: Mr. Blue and Peakaboo have emerged from hibernation.

After spending the winter somewhere warmer and definitely not helping with snow removal, they’ve returned to the farm for another season of questionable supervision and blueberry quality control.

You’ll likely spot them causing tiny amounts of chaos in photos all summer long. đŸ«
