Meet Rebecca Jeschke, our capacity building specialist! 👋 Rebecca joined the team in 2021 and supports the 61 organizations that make up the Network through relationship-building, partnership development, and collaboration.

“Growing up working in farming and agritourism sparked my interest in food systems and the role food plays in our communities,” Rebecca explains. “As I learned more, I became interested in the social and political factors that influence who can access nutritious food and who cannot. Working at The Food Bank felt like a natural next step, as it gives me the opportunity to work alongside organizations that are helping more people access the food they need.”

We want to say a big thank you to our summer students who helped out at our distribution centre this summer! Bradley, RJ, and Brad supported our warehouse associates with a variety of tasks, from sorting frozen food and building orders for our Network partners to moving pallets throughout the warehouse.

Exciting news! The Kitchener Rangers Memorial Cup is making a special visit to our distribution centre this week 🏆

While Rangers players won't be attending, you'll have the chance to see the Memorial Cup up close and meet its official handler.

Indwell creates affordable housing communities throughout southern Ontario, providing people with a foundation for health, wellness, and belonging. They are also one of 61 organizations in the Community Food Assistance Network.

“Bringing food to people’s doorsteps and eliminating that barrier to access has just created more opportunities for our tenants to engage in their own wellness. The Mobile Pantry is giving our tenants the ability to have a choice. To have some autonomy, nutrition, and grow community,” says Rikki Bouwman, the program manager at 140 Weber St.
