There’s so much happening behind the scenes at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, and partnerships like this are a big part of ensuring people have access to food! We work alongside Harvest Hands Canada to support food recovery and food-sharing efforts, helping surplus food reach people across our community and throughout southwestern Ontario.

Since 2020, Harvest Hands has helped provide more than 382,000 meals through the recovery of fresh, frozen, and non-perishable food 🍊 We're incredibly grateful for this partnership and the impact we're able to make together. Not just in Waterloo region, but beyond!

A bag. A box. A community coming together. They're the starting point for thousands of donations across Waterloo region.

Every year, community members, workplaces, schools, and neighbours use these bags and boxes to collect food for families facing hunger. Last year alone, the Food & Fund Drive program helped provide 1.6 million meals for our community!

And thanks to our 2026–2027 Food & Fund Drive program sponsors, the impact is greater! Because of their support, we can provide the community with the tools they need to collect donations and support neighbours facing hunger.

Thank you for making this program possible ❤️

We all have that favourite snack or treat that instantly brings back childhood memories, what was yours?

As kids across Waterloo region start their summer break soon, many will make memories with friends, family, and their favourite snacks. But not every child has reliable access to food. In fact, 36% of people accessing food assistance in our community are children.

You can help change that. Donate this summer to support children and families facing food insecurity. Thanks to a generous match from the Allan Bush Investment Team, every donation will have 2X the impact!

We don't talk enough about the impact of our fresh hampers! 🥕

Every week, volunteers help pack more than 1,500 fresh hampers that are distributed through the Community Food Assistance Network. The contents change from week to week, but each hamper includes a variety of nutritious fruits and vegetables. Last week, volunteers packed tomatoes, cabbage, cucumbers, and carrots!

When you donate funds, we're able to buy large quantities of fresh food to fill these hampers and help ensure everyone has access to nutritious food ❤️
