Happpy National Farmers day to all those working so hard to put quality food on your tables. And of course those who handed down thier time and wisdom from generations past.

How fitting that it is the day after Thanksgiving. 🍂🍁🦃🐄🐑



We had a lovely dinner with loved ones, filled our bellies with yummy food, and our hearts a with joy and laughter.

We are so grateful provide home grown beef and lamb to so many in our community. Just Lil ranchers we are but little by little the world gets fed.

The bull was pulled out of the herd last week and we checked out our fats that will be harvested on Oct 27th. Winter grazing will commence soon! 😉

Well we know what these girls were doing in the spring! May 6th to be exact!

😭 fall lambing was not supposed to be happening. There is never a dull moment around here and I guess we know who will breed out of season!

This team has been working hard.

Our large guardian dogs that we purchased this summer have kept everyone safe and are worth thier weight in gold 💰. Last year at this time we had lost over 20 lambs to predators. This year none!

Maple and Trigger are always working to make life easier for us too.

We have been busy getting ready for winter. Are you ready?

Teamwork makes dreamwork.😉

Good morning folks!

Can you believe how fast summer went? If spring didn't kill us with it's early spring heat, it surely tried to take us under during the late spring rain and wind.

I am sitting here thinking did summer even happen. I think it did? And now look we are half way through September.

Things here are settling into the fall rhythms, the cattle and sheep are still grazing on summer pastures, and the naughty sheep (in the second photo) are home and will soon be shipped. 😭
Not Suzie though she stays. 😉 I am not sure how she got tangled up in that baaaaaad group of girls.

We have a only got a couple spots left in our fall butcher date, if you are interested in our grass fed beef give us a shout.

Meet Maverick and Goose our two new large guardian dogs.



These two are our heros..🙌✈️ gun
They are gonna keep my girls safe from predators.

This has been in the workings for a long time. We finally have 2 large guardian dogs who are completely bonded to sheep and not humans. (I really can't believe it) Goose (smaller)is just under a year and Maverick is just over a year.

They both had to be heavily sedated to get them here and we are working slowly to get them used to us...😬 and the sheep used to them. 🤪

Slow and steady we go!

First of all I am super grateful it has stopped raining and the sun is shining tonight and that lambing season is coming to an end.😢🙏

Praise Jesus!

But I am even more grateful for a husband to ranch with, 2 amazing dogs that take on all the hard stuff and a pack of grands that are always willing to help Gigi with the work..❤️❤️

This spring is definitely one that will be etched in my memory for years to come.

I haven't had much time or ambition to share updates from lambing and calving season, and truthfully, it's been a challenging spring.

The weather tested us at every turn, and we've lost more lambs than we'd like to admit. We also dealt with an iodine deficiency that resulted in several weak lambs at birth, creating extra challenges when raising livestock on pasture as we do.

For the first time ever, we lost a calf—not a newborn—to a predator (we think possibly a cat) It was a tough loss and a difficult reminder of the realities of ranching.

This spring has brought all the emotions: excitement over new babies, heartbreak over losses, exhaustion, frustration, and moments when I seriously questioned whether I had it in me to keep going. Ranching is rewarding, but it can also be incredibly hard on the mind, body, and heart.

Thankfully, the weather has settled, the grass is finally growing, and there are still lambs arriving. Our bottle babies are thriving and will be ready for new homes.
