And that's a wrap! Thanks to everyone who came out to see us during our in-person events this winter/spring. We had our last market today in Lunenburg - if you missed us, we still are fulfilling website orders weekly and are happy to get emails with gardening questions. Here's to a great gardening season for everyone!

The calendar turns to May and just like that, we are winding down our in-person events! Last chance to catch us out & about this spring is Farmers' Market this Thursday, May 7th. Our seeds will continue to be available via our website, but this will be the last chance to snag one of our farm-grafted & grown fruit trees or other live plants, including bare root grape plants! 🍎🍐🍒🍇

Last call for willow orders! We have architectural & basketry types available for your spring willow plantings, a few Red Osier Dogwoods as well. Shipping Canada-wide, last mail out for willow/dogwood is this Monday April 20th!

Update for folks waiting on sunchokes -- we will ship existing orders on Monday and reassess what is available. Tubers were undersized from the 2025 drought conditions, but we may have a few pounds of our Stampede variety to make available later in the week - DM to get on the waitlist!

There are still a few asparagus crowns & grape plants to add to your landscape - but spring live plant season is soon drawing to a close, so don't delay!

Wolfville Farmers' Market Garrett is coming at ya tomorrow! Bringing our full selection of seeds, asparagus crowns, etc 🌱 plus these farm grafted & grown fruit trees!

Find him and other seedy vendors at the Wolfville Lion's Club tomorrow from 9-8:30.

With the lingering winter weather & April showers, we're a bit later than usual with some of our early spring offerings. But we'll be caught up within the next couple of weeks. Once we have existing orders sorted out, we will be able to update inventories if we have extra stock of anything.

Asparagus Crowns: Are dug and in cold storage to stay dormant. We'll start shipping orders with just asparagus crowns this coming week! Orders with other live plants will ship/be ready for pickup when everything is ready to go.

Willow/Dogwood Whips: We're planning to cut our willow as soon as we can. Likely shipping out on April 13 (we like to ship live plants early in the week).

Grape Plants & Sunchokes: We'll dig this coming week when the soil is workable - aiming to ship out starting April 13th as well.

Tomorrow we'll be Halifax Brewery Market Seedy Saturday in Halifax - we'll have our seeds, Asparagus Crowns, Seed Potatoes (we're down to just fingerlings on offer!), the last of our garlic, as well as apples and beets for your kitchen! See you there!

We'll have some gorgeous asparagus crowns along with us tomorrow at the St Margaret's Bay Seedy Saturday in Tantallon! As well as our farm grown seeds, garlic, & potatoes - plus a limited supply of farm grown apples & beets for your kitchen, too!

Folks with existing asparagus crown orders, hang tight - I've got them in cold storage now to keep them dormant and will ship after Easter so they don't end up stuck somewhere over the extra long holiday weekend.

A funny thing happened last week...

Our home internet router broke! And it turns out it takes some time to get on the technician's schedule, so we've been enjoying a forced break from constant internet access. I figured out how to take care of website orders and have been travelling to wifi about once per day to catch up on communication, including social media & emails. Please be patient if you're trying to reach us, or feel free to call our landline! (you can find it on our website)

In all honesty, it's mostly felt pretty great, like a breath of fresh air. We've been able to focus on the here & now of our homestead and family. Here's our spinach poking up in the greenhouse - finally feeling like spring around here!
