With the shorter days and cooler temperatures, the pace in Lake Country starts to slow down, and we settle into our fall rhythm at the orchard.

Starting Monday, September 7, our hours will be:

Sunday - Thursday | 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Friday + Saturday | 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM

We’re open a little later on Friday and Saturday evenings, so there’s still plenty of time for an evening visit to the orchard or c***ry.

There’s a lot happening at the orchard this month (check out our events line up!) and plenty of apples and plums ready for u-pick. We’re looking forward to a great September, and we can’t wait to see you!

Did you know our chickens are here for more than just egg production?

As they wander through the orchard, they scratch at the soil, snack on insects that can damage fruit trees, and return nutrients to the ground as they roam. Their presence in the orchard is part of a larger regenerative farming system that helps us care for the land while relying less on chemical inputs.

This is another way we’re working to create an ecosystem at the orchard where plants, animals, insects and soil all have a role to play.

Next time you’re visiting, maybe you’ll see our little feathered workers in action, and view them in a totally different light!

Member Spotlight: Rose Hill Orchard

We had the chance to meet with Angelique, one of the owners at Rose Hill Orchard, to learn more about what they do and the incredible business they run right here in Lake Country. Their passion for regenerative agriculture, growing organic produce, supporting local farmers, and creating a gathering place for the community through their new c***ry venture has been quickly embraced by the Lake Country community and visiting tourists.

It’s been a challenging wildfire season in the Okanagan, and our thoughts continue to be with the communities, families and businesses affected by the fires.

We’ve also had quite a few questions about visiting Rose Hill, so we wanted to share a quick update from the orchard.

Conditions can look very different from one part of our region to another, and can change from day to day. Here at Rose Hill, we remain open and will be operating during our regular hours, every day from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. If conditions here change and we need to adjust our hours or close, we’ll always let you know through our social media pages.

We also want to say thank you. The local support we’ve felt at the orchard and c***ry this summer has been incredible, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has continued to show up for us and for other local businesses throughout the area. It means the world to us.

We’ve got a little something in the works!

If you’ve visited Rose Hill with kids, you may already know about our little play area. It’s simple, and the kids love it, but we have been thinking up a few ways to enhance the area.

Those plans are starting to take shape, and although we’re not quite ready to show you everything yet, we thought we’d give you a little peek at what’s happening behind the scenes. A little nibble, perhaps!

In the meantime, the play area is still here and ready for little visitors. Grab a c***r, find a spot to sit, and let the kids play for awhile.

More to come soon!

We’re not ready to say goodbye to summer yet. We’re still enjoying warm evenings and long days, but signs of fall are starting to appear around the orchard.

Like our early Golden Delicious apples, now ready for u-pick.

They have us looking forward to crisp mornings, sweaters, baking, and all the good things that come with fall... even if we’d happily keep summer days around a little longer.
