Lakefield Farmers' Market

Lakefield Farmers' Market Your Connection to Local

Every Thursday, 9 AM - 1 PM, Rain or Shine
Season runs until October 29, 2026
Lakefield Arena Parking Lot, 20 Concession St.

The Lakefield Farmers’ Market continues to offer the same high quality fresh produce, preserves, baked goods, honey, prepared foods and handcrafted artisan items that the residents and visitors to Lakefield have come to expect. Of course, we’ll also offer the same welcoming atmosphere and lots of interactive fun for the whole family. Our vendors come from within a 100 km radius of Lakefield. As a

result, you get the freshest, tastiest produce available. The dollars you spend when you buy agricultural produce at the Lakefield Farmers’ Market go directly to the farmer and stay in our local agricultural economy. The stronger our local agricultural economy is, the more secure our food system will be, both now and in our children’s future - what’s not to like about that?

Arriving at the Lakefield Farmers Market each week with a loaded up van and a smile, Mary of Madrigal Gardens is the definition of a hard worker.

Since 2017, the farm has focused on vegetable production and homemade preserves; it was originally a beef cattle operation.

When asked what she appreciates about the Lakefield Farmers Market, Mary shared her love of knowing where her food comes from.

We are so grateful that Madrigal Gardens has been joining us since 2019, often accompanied by her son Alan and her beagle Riley.

If you arrive at the Lakefield Farmers Market from the north-west entrance, a boisterous voice will probably greet you with a compliment. That voice belongs to Martin Carbajal, the chef and proprietor of La Mesita Restaurante.

Started in 2002, La Mesita has been at the Lakefield Farmers Market on and off for 12 years, bringing empanadas, salsas, churro donuts, and more! Martin loves bringing a smile to people's faces, most often achieving that goal by sharing his delicious cooking.

When asked what he loves about the Lakefield Farmers Market, Martin shares that the atmosphere and people are very relaxed; "There's no stressing here!" Martin's fun-loving energy definitely contributes to that vibe.

The minute you visit Washburn Island Soap's booth you are immediately swept away by the wonderful smells and serene atmosphere that Diane Armstrong has lovingly created. It's no surprise that her variety of handcrafted and specialty soaps has such a faithful customer base.

Having started her business in 2020/2021, she joined the Lakefield Farmers Market five years ago and never looked back.

Her eyes practically sparkle when she thinks about everything she likes about Lakefield Farmers Market, declaring that "it's the best market. Everything about it is great." Rub-a-dub-dub!

If you're looking for the jack of all trades at Lakefield Farmers Market since 2016, you don't need to go any further than the Wagner Maple Products tent. Jeff Wagner can do, fix, or discuss anything with efficiency and experience, while remaining surprisingly humble. Perhaps he learned that from his father, who started the business back in 1976.

Teaming up with Carolina's Columbia to sell both coffee and 100% maple syrup from his family-operated farm, Jeff says that he most enjoys the antics and personalities he encounters at Lakefield Farmers Market.

The only thing sweeter than Wagner maple syrup are Rahul and Ruby, the duo running the booth whenever Jeff steps away.

If you've ever walked by Jess's Kitchen at the market you are sure to see two things: an eye-catching array of handheld and frozen foods and Jess herself sitting with her husband Ambrose, ready to walk you through their offerings.

Jess is such a people person, and finds the vendors and customers at Lakefield Farmers Market to be very kind, helpful, and committed to supporting local.

Jess's Kitchen has been operating for 18 years, first starting at the Peterborough Farmers Market before expanding to Lakefield. Now Lakefield is the primary market they attend, which we are very grateful for!

Mary Diane Watercolour and Artistic Creations has been operating in one form or another for 30 years, delighting customers with her wide variety of knitting and crocheted items as well as her original watercolour paintings. Diane loves seeing people's faces light up when they see her creations, especially the sock monkeys.

Bringing her smiling presence to the market for 8 years, Diane originally shared a booth with founding vendor Joyce Fowler. Joyce sadly passed away in 2025 and is greatly missed.

We are so grateful that Diane continues to carry on the tradition of lovingly made hand-crafted goods.

We are starting our new Full Time vendor feature with some buzz!

Peter of Yellow House Bees has been operating for 9 years, but he can't quite remember how long he and Otona-BEE Apiary have been at the Lakefield Farmers Market. In his customary flannel, Peter sells honey lemonade, both creamed and liquid honey, and infused honeys.

When asked what his favorite part of our market is, Peter shared that he loves having conversations with people, especially "customers that have questions and experiences in their lives and how honey and bees connect with that. While people may have generationally different experiences, everyone smiles when they think of honey."

Having Peter and Astrid represented at Lakefield Farmers Market certainly brings a smile to our face!
