Red Trees Farm Owned and operated by the Fast family (since 1946), Red Trees Farm is a 10-acre tree farm located in the Otter area of Langley Township.

We are so excited to see our extended Christmas tree family & friends in a few weeks.

This family found us during our first season of operations. New immigrants from 🇧🇷, they somehow found our website & showed up to get a tree, "like Canadians do." We became immediate friends. They have helped us plant our field and we have hosted a birthday party for them.

It is stories like these that make our events so special. It is people like them who make our farm what it is. ❤️

As we update our website, here are some details so you can start to make plans for this year's Christmas Experience

Earlier this month, we hosted a special event, my 50th birthday party. I wasn't sure if and how to celebrate, but Jon found a company Engagement Unlimited to host a Murder Mystery on the farm. We sent out the invites, including the suggested costume theme "I have nowhere to wear this" and it turned into one of the best nights of our lives.

Our friends and family members leaned fully into the theme and activity, and the actors were incredible, bringing the mystery to life. We laughed until our cheeks hurt. (Special thanks to our friends and my Dad, who were put into costumes as the suspects, without any pre-warning. You brought this entire event to life!)

It can be hard to see all the people we love, given the busyness of life, but I am incredibly grateful for the life that I've been gifted, and blessed by the people who have arrived at various points. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. ❤️

📆 Our opening day is November 28th.
✍️ Registration opens on November 12th.

(No, this tree is not for sale. It's one of our original trees from our first plant, over a decade ago. We are letting this one grow!)

We've decided our farming vibe is much more Ed Sheeran and less country or classic rock.

We'll keep an eye on these Frasers to see if singing (or attempting to sing) helps them grow even better. (Please note: I was forbidden from posting our serenade.)

Mother Nature is starting to wake up, so we are in full farm mode.

✔️ Planted 120 Canaan (Balsam) firs. These can handle the wet conditions in one section of our field. (We had nearly 100% loss with Frasers in the same area, as they don't like wet conditions.
✔️ Conditioned the soil to improve its structure & fertility. (We are doing this in multiple ways this Spring, moving towards regenerative farming.)
TO DO: Transplant 400+ potted Fraser firs (in other sections of the field). We should have the entire back field completely planted for the first time.

Every spare moment of the next few weeks will have us in the fields.
