Aldor Acres Ltd.

Aldor Acres Ltd. A family farm east of Fort Langley, open seasonally. www.aldoracres.com for openings/private events. See you on your next visit!

We are a family owned and operated farm located 5 kms east of Fort Langley in beautiful Glen Valley. Grandparents Albert and Dorothy Anderson humbly sold a few pumpkins on the honour system at a roadside stand back in 1988. 3 generations and 25 years later we now grow over 30 acres of Pumpkin Patches and Christmas Trees, alongside offering an educational hands-on farm experience. We also host pri

vate parties, such as Birthdays, Family Reunions, Company Parties, and any other gathering you may have. Schools and families also have the chance to visit our farm during the spring, summer, and the months of October and December and learn about agriculture and animals in todays society. Our passion is farming and we enjoy nothing more than sharing our little piece of paradise with you.

Finding words to write for certain things that happen in life is almost impossible.

It’s especially hard when you’re trying to find words that have enough meaning + feeling to match the meaning + feeling that person gave in this lifetime.
___________

Just over a week ago, our community, neighborhood, + farm lost a kind, caring, integral, + meaningful human.

On the outside, Farmer Steve was our HIGHLY requested hayride driver, the BEST Christmas Santa, our daily farm wellness “checker in’er”, + one of the most IMPORTANT front line faces here on the farm.

On the inside, Steve touched people.
A little tap here, a big tap there.
Tap, tap, touch.
His footprints were always ones of meaningful + lasting touch.

There are endless things to say about Steve to celebrate his far reaching impact and legacy.
There was a richness to his heart that left everyone better.
He made you want to do, be, + live more deeply in service to others.
Don’t know if there is a more beautiful parting gift to leave for others.
__________

Please help us raise a pumpkin + honk a horn for him today by sharing your favorite farm memories + stories below.

And Steve, here’s a tractor pulled triple wagon through a muddy field salute to you. 🚜

You will be DEARLY missed ❤️

It’s also the last opportunity to come cuddle the sweet farm pups before they head off to their new homes ❤️

Our artisanal farm market is open with the most amazing local small batch vendors, our farm food shack has farm raised sausages hot off the grill, and off course hayrides all day 🚜

Don’t forget the famous goat parade is at 9:30am + 5:30pm 🐐

Open both Saturday + Sunday | 9am-6pm

See you this weekend 🫶

You’ll even get to bring a few home!

The second gathering is all about creating with these edible plants + medicinals.
We will spend the afternoon in the kitchen learning what to do with plants + medicinals after we harvest them.
What we can make to nourish ourselves both in food + home/body senses.
You will get to take all the product you make that day home with you!

As always, we will wrap up both of these wild foraging sessions by visiting the baby farm animals + simply spending time relaxing on the farm. 🐷

Empathy is about standing in someone else’s shoes.
It’s about feeling someone else’s heart + seeing with their eyes.
It’s about finding an echo of another person within yourself.
And it sure makes the world one heck of a better place ❤️

“Something simple” on the farm 🌳
___________

A thing we keep hearing from parents + adults is that they would love a chance to come to the farm KID-FREE!

A chance to spend time with the farm animals, kick back around the fire, + take it down 2 notches from the pace they usually find themselves moving.

So, we’re making this happen 🐣
__________

Starting this month, join us for “something simple” on the farm.

Monthly farm gatherings for US ADULTS!
Each centered around a new theme + all with the same base of farm + simplicity.

Think cozy campfires, baby animal cuddles, fresh air, real conversations, + different topics to explore.
_________

There’s a sign as you enter the farm that reads, “slow down, you’re on farm time” + that’s exactly what these gatherings are about - stepping into a more easeful, presence filled pace, away from screens + distractions.

Something a little different than most of our day to day lives!
__________

This farm was built around connecting our community to farming.

Providing a place for people to slow down.
To experience something simple + real.
It was designed with care + made to share.

We hope that these new community farm gatherings + everything else we offer here always feels good to the soul.
Like inviting you in for a warm cup of coffee ☕️

Stay tuned this week as we share details for the VERY FIRST “something simple.”

The spring secret is OUT 🐾🌷🐾🌷
_____________

We have farm puppies 🐶
Mama Moose had 9 healthy little mini “moose” born on Thursday, April 2nd.
ALMOST April Fools’ Day pups (we promise this isn’t a joke!) ❤️
__________

She even had them during the day so her human nurses could get a good nights sleep. We were SO very thankful 😂

We might say this about all our farm moms but she really is just THE BEST!
So natural + instinctual, if she was a human she would definitely be the one wanting a solo home birth in an outdoor bathtub under the trees on a full moon 🌝 🏕️ 💪
____________

Want a chance to visit these “mini moose”?!
I mean who doesn’t?! 🤪

They will be making their public debut next Sunday, April 26th for our public farm opening supporting Parkinson’s Disease ☀️

And fore warning…get ready to spend the WHOLE DAY here! We’ve got a few more NEW mama’s + babies to share with you soon 🤗
____________

Raising funds + awareness for Parkinson’s AND ALSO getting in puppy cuddles!
Talk about a win, win 🥰

Parkinson’s Awareness Farm Opening 🫶🐣🫶
________

On Sunday, April 26th we are opening our farm doors for our VERY SPECIAL annual public opening raising both funds + awareness for Parkinson’s Disease ☀️

Around the world, April is known as Parkinson Awareness Month. 🌷
This campaign shines a light on the people both living with + affected by Parkinsons.

This cause is quite dear to our hearts. ❤️
And for this reason, every year we share our farm’s personal story.
________

Dorothy, the “dor” of Aldor, + co-owner of the farm with her husband Albert, has been affected by Parkinson’s for the past couple decades.

She is an incredibly amazing woman whose drive, character, + zing for life has always + continues to inspire both our own family + our farm community.

Dorothy continues to rise above the physical, mental, + emotional challenges that this disease brings.
She remembers every teacher’s name that has been coming for the past 35 years, can do percentages in her head that would leave any teenager these days dumbfounded + has the organizational skills everyone dreams about!!!

She’s like the little engine that could; never giving up. If we could sum her up in one word it would be “unshakable” 💪

You will find her at every farm opening cruising around on her golf cart with red lipstick + a stylish scarf or spring hat 👒
________

We hope by featuring Dorothy’s story that it may inspire, educate + help people know they are not alone in their Parkinson’s journey. 🤗

Whether you are living with the disease, are a care partner or medical professional, have a family member affected by, or are someone that wants to come visit the farm animals + help us raise funds for research, please join in on April 26th to support all those who both quietly & loudly rise up against Parkinsons. ✨
________

IMPORTANT.
This opening is for EVERYONE! 👫
No matter if you have a connection to Parkinson’s or not.
All admission proceeds from this day will be donated to The Parkinsons Society of BC.
