Aldor Acres Ltd.

Aldor Acres Ltd. A family farm east of Fort Langley, open seasonally. www.aldoracres.com for openings/private events. See you on your next visit!

We are a family owned and operated farm located 5 kms east of Fort Langley in beautiful Glen Valley. Grandparents Albert and Dorothy Anderson humbly sold a few pumpkins on the honour system at a roadside stand back in 1988. 3 generations and 25 years later we now grow over 30 acres of Pumpkin Patches and Christmas Trees, alongside offering an educational hands-on farm experience. We also host pri

vate parties, such as Birthdays, Family Reunions, Company Parties, and any other gathering you may have. Schools and families also have the chance to visit our farm during the spring, summer, and the months of October and December and learn about agriculture and animals in todays society. Our passion is farming and we enjoy nothing more than sharing our little piece of paradise with you.

WE ARE HIRING FOR OUR FALL SEASON!!! 🎃🌻🐷
_____________

We are hard at work in the background getting ready + one of the things we get quite excited to do is to welcome people from the community, like YOU, to be part of our farm family 🫶
__________

We will be hosting our annual FALL JOB FAIR on September 13th at 4pm.

BUT…
No need for us to waste your time + for you to waste ours so to help streamline this process we have laid out a few specific + yes, required requirements.

PLEASE read through these before applying :)
____________

🎃 able to work in a fast paced environment + be on your feet all day. We ROCK + ROLL around here. There is no sitting around!
🎃 RELIABLE. We don’t care much for this new age flakiness trend!
🎃 We know we are a wee bit ole school, but those good old ole school qualities of being able to look someone in the eye, shake hands with a firm handshake, + have genuine conversations with other humans are NON NEGOTIABLES around here.
🎃 be willing to work in all kinds of weather. Cold, warm, rainy, sunny, you name it. And here’s the kicker….you’ve got to be able to do it WITHOUT whining!
🎃 FLEXIBLE! Not the yoga kind but overall life kind. We run week by week, sometimes even day by day. The more flexible you can be the better!
🎃 If you’re just looking for a job to have a job + that’s it, we can HONESTLY tell you that this isn’t for you.
___________

BOTTOM LINE.
We expect a lot from you. And PROMISE to give you JUST AS MUCH back. We care about you as a human being + want you to enjoy being here hanging out with us, other people, + the animals 🐥

So if ALL of that sounds easy breezy lemon squeezy to you…we would love to chat with you! 🍋

Please send us an email to rsvp +/or ask questions to [email protected] 🚜

It is officially less than 1 MONTH till we open our doors to the public again! 🌻🎃🌻
________________

That means it’s OFFICIALLY time for us to get our butts out of hibernation + start sharing a bit more on social media! 🙃

It’s NO SECRET that we try + keep our social media presence minimalist + intentional for MORE REASONS THAN WE CAN COUNT but at the bottom of it, we never want to try + sell our farm to you. 🌾

We want you to come because YOU LOVE IT🐷 ❤️🐷

It may be a tad bit “old school” way of thinking, but we really believe good ole fashioned word of mouth is the best marketing tool around.

Social media has a tendency to make things look REAL shiny + just not real real.

We trust in the fact that if you come to visit + truly feel good here, you’ll tell someone else that you think would like it, they will love it, + so the story goes 🤗
_______________

You will hear + see a wee bit more from us over this next month as we gear up for the hustle + bustle of our fall pumpkin patch! 🎃

We will share more about our farm, the animals that live here, the farmers that take care of them, the insider tips of visiting the farm, + a real honest glimpse into our life + how grateful we are to get to share it with the community 🐣

But as always, we promise to keep it intentional, real, transparent + hopefully quite refreshing 🫶

This is such an exciting time of year for us!
So. Here. We. GO.🤘

A little glimpse into the past month here on the farm - 3 weeks of “free range” summer farm kid camp 🚜
__________

To sum the farm camp up in a few sentences is simply IMPOSSIBLE so we will just say, they’re a real vibe.🤘

From our amazing camp counsellors, to all the kids that filled our days with energy, loads of questions + happiness only kids can give, to the parents who patiently put up with the piles of dirty clothes + faces we sent them home with :)

THANK YOU to everyone who chose to be a part of this farm experience 💛
__________

If you or your kids have a story or note they want to tell about their time here at camp please share it below. Staff counselors share your memories as well 🐓

Being a part of the community in this way is truly such an honour. So thank you again for letting us be part of so many of your lives 🙏

Family Wild Foraging + Farm Animal Visit

People have been gathering + surviving off of plants in their environment since the beginning of time. A kind of lost art in this day + time!

WHAT IS FORAGING?
Foraging is identifying, collecting + eating/crafting with plants that grow wild in nature (many in our own backyards!).

WHY SHOULD CHILDREN FORAGE?
There are SO many reasons!

* Environmental Stewardship:
Teaching kids to forage connects them deeply to nature. Kids who learn about their local ecosystem are more likely to value + protect it as they grow.

* Critical Thinking + Observation:
Foraging builds lifelong problem-solving skills. Learning how identity plants directs natural curiosity into hands-on learning.

* Appreciation + Empathy:
Experiencing the time + effort required to gather a handful of edible berries or flowers gives children real-world context for the food we eat.

* Fun Physical Activity:
Foraging turns a standard hike or walk into an engaging forest treasure hunt!

* Self-Sufficiency:
It teaches basic survival, plant knowledge, + resourcefulness that builds confidence outdoors + develops deep appreciation for the ecosystems in our own backyards.
___________

Led by Karisa from Mama Bare Naturals | Non-Toxic Home + Cleaning, we will be learning all about wild foraging, making a fun craft to take home with you + OF COURSE cuddling with all the farm animals 🤗

Finding words to write for certain things that happen in life is almost impossible.

It’s especially hard when you’re trying to find words that have enough meaning + feeling to match the meaning + feeling that person gave in this lifetime.
___________

Just over a week ago, our community, neighborhood, + farm lost a kind, caring, integral, + meaningful human.

On the outside, Farmer Steve was our HIGHLY requested hayride driver, the BEST Christmas Santa, our daily farm wellness “checker in’er”, + one of the most IMPORTANT front line faces here on the farm.

On the inside, Steve touched people.
A little tap here, a big tap there.
Tap, tap, touch.
His footprints were always ones of meaningful + lasting touch.

There are endless things to say about Steve to celebrate his far reaching impact and legacy.
There was a richness to his heart that left everyone better.
He made you want to do, be, + live more deeply in service to others.
Don’t know if there is a more beautiful parting gift to leave for others.
__________

Please help us raise a pumpkin + honk a horn for him today by sharing your favorite farm memories + stories below.

And Steve, here’s a tractor pulled triple wagon through a muddy field salute to you. 🚜

You will be DEARLY missed ❤️

WOW. Incredible response 👏
_____________

We are now releasing registration for the next “Something Simple on the farm.” 🌲

The theme for this next one is spring wild foraging + it is a series of two gatherings.

These are beginner level gatherings + open to all adults + young adults.
____________

The first gathering is a hands on foraging experience on the farm where you’ll get to experience a guided wild foraging walk, education on the edible plants + medicinals available this time of year, how to harvest + process these plants.
You’ll even get to bring a few home!

The second gathering is all about creating with these edible plants + medicinals.
We will spend the afternoon in the kitchen learning what to do with plants + medicinals after we harvest them.
What we can make to nourish ourselves both in food + home/body senses.
You will get to take all the product you make that day home with you!

As always, we will wrap up both of these wild foraging sessions by visiting the baby farm animals + simply spending time relaxing on the farm. 🐷
