There’s something about fresh baking and a glass of wine that just makes a Saturday feel complete.

This weekend at The Market by FVWC, we’re excited to welcome Brown Sugar Shack to Chapter Estates Winery. Known for their handcrafted baked goods, sweet treats, and loyal following, they’re one of those vendors people make a point of seeking out.

If you’ve had their baking before, you already know. If you haven’t, this is your chance.

Join us Saturday from 10AM–2PM for a beautiful day of local vendors, wine, coffee, fresh goods, and some of the Fraser Valley’s best makers all gathered in one place.

With a lineup this good, we’re expecting a busy one, so arrive early for the best selection.

And when you’re done shopping, stick around. Grab a glass, a flight, or a bottle and spend the afternoon enjoying the vineyard.

Flowers and wine have more in common than most people realize. Both are shaped by the seasons, rooted in the land, and at their best when shared with others.

At this season’s Markets by FVWC, we’re welcoming Gardening & Pretty Things, a micro flower farm nestled in the heart of Bradner, West Abbotsford. What began as a hobby garden has grown into a flourishing small-scale flower farm, producing an abundance of blooms from early spring through to the first frost.

Their approach celebrates the beauty of the season—working with unique flowers, unexpected fillers, and textural foliages that change throughout the year. Whether you’re drawn to their fresh-cut bouquet bar, dried flower creations, DIY craft kits, or grab-and-go seasonal arrangements, each piece reflects the simple joy of bringing a little more beauty into everyday life.

There’s something special about flowers that are grown locally and arranged with care. Much like wine, they capture a moment in time. A season. A feeling. A reminder to slow down and appreciate what’s right in front of you. Their dried flower offerings extend that feeling even further, preserving a piece of the growing season long after summer has passed.

That connection to place is exactly what makes markets like this so meaningful. Local growers, makers, and artisans coming together to share what they create with their community. It’s a chance to discover something new, support local, and spend a few hours enjoying the best of the Fraser Valley.

Pick up a bouquet, enjoy a glass of wine, and wander the market at your own pace. We can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning.

There’s a quiet parallel between fragrance and wine—both are built to capture something fleeting. A place, a season, a feeling. Something you can’t quite hold onto… until you can.

At this season’s Markets by FVWC, we’re welcoming Ollie & Co., a Richmond-based studio founded by Jeannie, whose work lives right at that intersection of memory and sensory experience. What began during the stillness of the pandemic—when home became everything—evolved from a personal ritual into a full collection of handcrafted candles, home fragrances, and body products. Each one is created in small batches, designed not just to smell good, but to mean something—to reflect a moment with striking clarity.

There’s an intentionality behind it all. Nothing mass-produced, nothing rushed. Every blend is developed with patience (some taking over a year to perfect), using clean ingredients and a deep respect for the craft. It’s the same philosophy we believe in with wine—where time, place, and care shape the final experience. Whether it’s a scent that reminds you of the coast or something more intimate and personal, the connection is immediate—and lasting.

And that sense of place matters. Everything from Ollie & Co. is made locally in Richmond, rooted in the idea that community is something you build and support together. It’s why they show up at markets like this, and why we host them here—bringing together makers, growers, and creators in a setting that invites you to slow down, explore, and discover.

Spend the morning moving through the market, glass in hand, taking it all in—what you taste, what you smell, what you remember. It’s all part of the same experience.

Meet your next market obsession: Sweet & Sourdough.🥖

What started as a simple shift toward eating better—without giving up bread—turned into something people couldn’t stop asking for.

One loaf became many, shared between neighbours… and now, it’s the kind of bread people come back for week after week.

This husband-and-wife duo is all about slow, intentional baking:

– Long-fermented sourdough (40+ hours for that depth and texture).
– Clean, simple ingredients you can actually recognize.
– Always dairy-free, and yes… accidentally vegan (but you’d never guess).
– Small batches, made with care—and a “quality control” taste test every time.

Behind every loaf? 3AM starts, constant refining, and a rhythm built around the craft of fermentation.

It’s not just bread—it’s something that feels good, tastes even better, and becomes part of your everyday.

And that’s exactly what the Market by FVWC is about—real people, real craft, and food you can trust.

City roots. Farm grit. Full circle.

Lazy Acres Farm is what happens when you trade concrete for commitment. A first-generation farm family raising heritage hogs the way it should be—outdoors, in the mud, under the sun, fed almost entirely on produce. No shortcuts, just intention.

For them, it’s bigger than farming. It’s about building something real for their kids, creating honest connections in the community, and proving that doing things the right way still matters.

And now, after years in the making, they’ve opened the doors to The Heritage Pork Shop—full hearts, full plates, and a vision that keeps getting bigger.

Find them at the FVWC Market at Chapter Estates Winery—20 curated vendors, a relaxed outdoor setting, and a patio made for slow mornings that turn into sun-soaked afternoons. Thoughtfully made goods, local flavour, and the kind of atmosphere you’ll want to stay in.

And of course, it all pairs perfectly with a glass of wine—this is where Chapter Estates Winery comes in. 🍷
