Every birthday party has one kid (or parent) quietly turning the package over to read the label before they take anything.

Every bag of Heritage popcorn is gluten-free, peanut-free, and vegan. That's just how we've made it since day one.

Which means that kid gets to reach into the bowl like everybody else. No label. No asking. No being the one who can't. 🫶

We didn't set out to be the safe snack at every party in Alberta. We just make popcorn the same way every single time, and it turned out a lot of families needed exactly that.

Things that survive a backpack: a granola bar, a juice box, and roughly nothing else. 🎒

Kettle Corn makes the list. Doesn't melt. Doesn't need an ice pack. Doesn't come home four days later as a science experiment in a container you'd rather throw out than open.

Gluten-free, peanut-free, vegan, sweet and salty. Made fresh for the order in our shop, not sitting in a warehouse bin since June.

I'd like to formally nominate 6:50am as the best ten minutes of this whole operation. 🍿

Lights on. First kettle heating. Nobody's called yet. No order has gone sideways yet. Coffee still hot, which around here qualifies as an event.

By 9 it's over. Phones going, kettles going, someone needs 11 cases by Thursday.

Those ten minutes though. Undefeated. 😮‍💨

If you got voluntold to run this year's fundraiser, hi. This one's for you. 🎒

August feels too early to be thinking about it. It isn't. The slots that land before Thanksgiving, before every other group in town fills their calendar, go to whoever asks first. And somebody always asks in August.

We've helped raise $42,000 for Alberta schools and organizations in the last three years. No catalogue full of stuff nobody wants. Just popcorn, made fresh for every order, that people are genuinely happy to hand their money over for.

You've got enough going on. Let this be the easy part.

Two Saturdays left before backpacks and lunch schedules take over, and Blue Raspberry Popcorn is doing its part to make them count.

It's the flavour that turns lips a genuinely alarming shade of blue and makes "just one more handful" the least true sentence any kid will say all weekend. Sweet, glazed, a little chaotic in the best way, exactly what the last stretch of summer calls for.

There's a shopper at a Safeway somewhere in Edmonton who grabs the same bag of Kettle Corn every single week without even slowing down.

We'll never know her name. We know the bag she reaches for, same spot in her cart, same trip, like it was already on her list before she walked in. That's most of what a grocery-aisle relationship actually looks like: no conversation, no loyalty card, just someone who keeps coming back to the same bag.

Every one of those bags gets made with the same care whether it's her hundredth or someone's first. We just think it's worth saying: we notice the regulars, even the ones we'll never meet.

By 9am the kettle's already been running for two hours and the whole shop smells like it.

Peak season doesn't announce itself. It just shows up one Monday as a longer order list, and by Wednesday everyone's found their rhythm again: pop, scoop, bag, seal, repeat, without much talking because the kettle noise makes conversation a losing battle anyway.

It's loud. It's warm enough that the back door stays propped open even when it shouldn't. And somehow by 4pm every order's still out on time, the same as it was in the quiet weeks, just with more coffee involved to get there.

This is the part customers never see: not the bag on the shelf, but the two hours before it existed.

Three weeks left before backpacks take over every conversation in this province, and Sweet Honey Heat is still the popcorn we reach for on a hot afternoon.

There's a very specific sound campground quiet makes right before everyone reaches for the same bag of popcorn.

Caramel Popcorn is the one that survives the cooler, doesn't need a fire or a pot, and disappears around a picnic table faster than anyone wants to admit. Sweet, crunchy, and somehow better when you're eating it in a camp chair than at your own kitchen table.

Made fresh to order in our shop, so the glaze is still faintly warm when it gets packed. It's not something that's been sitting in a bin since June.
