Veraison has begun! 🍇

This is an exciting stage in the vineyard when the grapes begin to ripen. As they develop, their sugar levels increase while their acidity decreases, helping to shape the flavour and character of the grapes.

We are thrilled that our 2023 Parke Vineyard Pinot Noir has won Gold at the 2026 National Wine Align Awards! 🏆

This Pinot Noir comes from the Wismer family’s Parke Vineyard in the Twenty Mile Bench region of Niagara. This excellent site located northeast of the winery was planted in 1999 with clones 667 and 115. At an elevation of around 100 meters, just over 5 kilometers, from Lake Ontario, this vineyard is planted just south of Hanck Vineyard and is home to magnesium-rich clay loam soils, producing wines with excellent minerality and structure. 🍇

“92 points. Very much classic Niagara Pinot Noir, this is led by polished, well-defined strawberry and red cherry fruit, with a touch of development adding complexity. There’s a sucrosity to the palate, giving this weight and volume, with very good length.” - Geoffrey Moss, MW, Wine Align

“92 points. This wine shines star bright with yellow-gold inflections and releases the sweet scent of sea-salted caramel. That fragrance leads to a slow, flowing river of richness — palate-coating flavours of toffee, candied orange peel, hazelnut, salt-crusted stone and butter-roasted apple coat the palate before bright acidity snaps the wine back into focus, scraping the palate clean. This generous, barrel-fermented, oak-aged Chardonnay is drinking like a dream, and it will set you up for a fancy feast of grilled lobster basted with butter. Great way to make memories.” 🥂
