❄️🐔 Frosty Mornings at Tetley’s Cluck & Crow! 🐔❄️

Jack Frost paid us a visit here in Cape Breton this morning! 🥶🍂

The grass is sparkling with frost, but our feathered little troublemakers are tucked away in their winterized run, protected from those chilly winds! ❤️

All that hard work wrapping the run in greenhouse plastic is starting to pay off! No frost or condensation inside this morning, and we’ve kept ventilation along the top for fresh airflow. 🙌

And the flock? Well, I’m pretty sure they think we’ve built them their very own luxury chicken resort! 😂🐓 Complete with a covered patio, fresh country air, and room for their daily gossip sessions. Of course, there’s always that one hen who has to complain to management about the breakfast service! 🤣🥚

We’re not quite finished yet! A stronger, peaked winter roof is still on our to-do list before the heavy Cape Breton snow arrives. 🌨️

There’s something so rewarding about watching our little homestead come together, one project at a time. ❤️

Frost on the grass, feathers full of sass, and another day of being bossed around by chickens! 🐔😂❤️

Apparently, the girls have decided they’re running their own little Easter egg factory… in OCTOBER! 😂🍂

SIX beautiful eggs, fresh from the coop! 💚💙🤎

From soft sage greens and gorgeous olive tones to that dreamy sky blue and our classic farm-fresh browns, these ladies are really showing off their talents!

No two eggs are quite alike, and that’s what makes raising a colourful backyard flock so much fun. 🥰

A little dirt, a lot of feathers, and a handful of happiness that’s homestead life, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! 🏡🐓

🍂🧡 Happy Thanksgiving from our little homestead! 🐓🍁

There’s something so special about slowing down and appreciating the little things in life. A basket of freshly gathered eggs, beautiful fall flowers, happy chickens, and a home filled with love. ❤️

This year has reminded me that some of life’s greatest blessings aren’t bought in stores. They’re found in the early mornings, the muddy boots, the hard work, the animals we care for, and the simple moments that make it all worthwhile.

Our little homestead may not be perfect, and there’s always another project waiting to be finished, but every day I’m reminded of just how much we have to be thankful for.

I’m grateful for my family, our animals, the lessons learned, the challenges overcome, and the opportunity to build a life filled with things that truly matter.

Here’s to appreciating what we have, finding joy in the simple things, and remembering that sometimes the smallest blessings fill our hearts the most. 🧡

🎃🐔 Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice… Chicken Edition! 🍁🍂

Thanksgiving dinner came a little early for the feathered crew! 🦃🤣

Forget pumpkin pie, these girls prefer their pumpkins WHOLE, fresh, and served right in the chicken run! 😂🎃

No carving required, no fancy table settings, and definitely no leftovers when this bunch gets together! 🐓❤️

Watching them peck away, investigate, and enjoy their very own fall feast is just another reason I love this little homestead life. 🥰

First day ever collecting FIVE eggs, and I couldn’t be more proud of my little ladies! 🥹🐔❤️

🌿🫒 MEET MARSHMALLOW 🫒🌿

Don’t let the name fool you, this little Marshmallow has a colourful surprise up her sleeve. 🤍🐔

With her soft creamy feathers, adorable little crest and sweet face, Marshmallow definitely lives up to her name. But what makes her extra special are the gorgeous olive-green eggs she adds to our basket. 🫒🥚

For a while, we had a little mystery on our hands. We knew someone in the flock was laying these beautiful olive eggs, but we weren’t quite sure who the talented lady was. Well… we finally caught Marshmallow in the act! 😂💚

There’s just something exciting about collecting eggs and never knowing exactly what colours you’ll find. Between Petunia’s beautiful blue eggs and Marshmallow’s lovely olive ones, our egg basket is becoming quite the rainbow. 🩵💚

So officially introducing Marshmallow — our fluffy little olive-egging queen! 👑🐔🫒

She’s cute, she’s fluffy, and apparently she’s been keeping a pretty colourful secret from us. 😂🤍
