Sorry Sauce

Sorry Sauce Farm to table, micro batch hot sauce done Canadian style with a free apology in every bottle. We'll have a bunch of cool hot sauces available at any given time.

I grow the peppers, tomatoes and ground cherries in the Garden of Apologies and most of the other ingredients come from the farms around us. The garlic and extra dark maple syrup come from a farm about a kilometre up the road ! Nina and I are punk rock, hippy vegans ourselves, so I grow and craft the punk rock, hippy vegan way using mostly hand tools for a low carbon footprint, and using compost a

nd hard work instead of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. I know I don't really want to eat produce that's covered in shellac and chemicals, so I don't use any in Sorry Sauce. We have a regular set of recipes that we like to make, and there are always some new recipes around also. We've got your hot sauce, but we also have your hot pepper powder, hot maple syrup, and sometimes hot candies. If we can think of something that would be good with hot peppers in it, we'll do it! The only thing you can really expect from us is quality! Please have a look at www.sorrysauce.ca to see what we've got goin' on.

It's been a crazy few days, but I'd like to take this moment to thank everyone who came by the Garden of Apologies on Saturday for Spring Rural Romp.

The day ended up being busier than expected, and I was slammed busy with visitors from 9:59am until 4:20pm. I appreciate everyone's patience as I bounced between wrangling traffic, offering hot sauce samples, and giving tours of the pepper field and Greenhouse of Extreme Regret.

Thanks to Heather from and for throwing such a great event, and I'm still flattered that so many people came by to check out what I do. What a great day!

That said, it's planting season so as soon as everyone left, I grabbed a sandwich and was right back to the field. 1095 peppers in the ground so far, and the squashes, cherry tomatoes and ground cherries are making good progress also.

I was hoping to work on the irrigation system between visitors, but I ended up not having any time to breathe so it's still on hold for a few weeks until the planting is done.

Looking forward to next year already!

It's day 3 of in Barrie, and this is always the hardest day.

Partly, it's because I'm a bit tired from a couple of long days here standing on a concrete floor, but mostly because Sundays are when I get hauled on stage with to do the Cherrynobyl eye stunt.

If weren't so handsome and persuasive, I could probably get out of it. But he is, and so here we are again.

Big shout out to for doing a bang up job on Magnificent's memorial tattoo. I miss my Maggie, but the portrait looks just like her so she's always with me.

Looking forward to hitting the tomorrow to get on with planting!

It looks like we're past the last frost of spring, so it's time to get on with the planting.

The mulch is down in the front garden, and I have a bunch of the new irrigation lines laid out. The remaining parts arrive today, so I can get that job finished soon.

I've added a smart timer that monitors the weather and water flow, so it'll automate watering based upon what the plants actually need and will save me a lot of time standing out there with a hose.

I have half of the back field prepped and ready, and the Greenhouse of Extreme Regret is just bursting at the seams. The seedlings, especially the ground cherries, are in better shape than they've ever been in previous seasons, so I'm stoked to get moving.

That said, I'm away at in Barrie all weekend, so I'll get 'er going on Monday. Planting first, then irrigation lines, then I can start cutting the cages for the front garden containers so you'll have something to look at May 30 for 's Spring Rural Romp.

Let's go!

The new sign post is up, and it's twice the height. Let's see if the snowplow driver can hit this one. 😎

I'm expecting people will be able to see it so they'll know where to stop in for the Rural Romp on May 30.

The old sign post is there for scale reference.

Game on for spring!
