It’s here…. The final extraction day.. Sunday September 7. Going to be doing the last extraction of the year. Hopping there will be a good amount of honey.

Brought a live hive to “Busy Bee Day Care” so the kids could see the bees. Lots of kids for a chance to see the bees and catch a glimpse of the queen.

I painted the back of the queen blue, to help people find her faster. It was so great to see all the excited faces as they get to see honey bees working for the first time. So glad to get the chance to visit the staff and kids at the day care.

Spent and amazing day at the 7th annual Gathering of the clans Highland Festival ins Sedgwick yesterday. Over 1300 people there, dozens of venders, food trucks, petting zoo, Pipebands, highland heavey games, and ended the night off with a ceilidh. This festival grows every year with more activities and PipeBand’s coming to it.

Such a good day selling honey with my good friend Andrea. We brought down a live bee hive, and a fresh honey frame for people to try. The weather was great and the festival was so much fun.

Come out to open farm days, and bring the whole family. Chatsworth farms puts on a great family fun day at an active farm and bring in close to 100 venders for the day.

Thank you to all the people that reached out over the last weeks. A massive thank you to all those who came and helped with the honey pull and the extraction. It was so so amazing of all of you for coming, it would not have been possible with you.

In the end we pulled of and spun out just over 1200lb of honey. At bit light this year, but that worked out well under the circumstances.

Help request.

I’m in a bit of a bind. At the start of this week I had an emergency appendectomy and spent the week in hospital. I’m now home but can not lift more then 5-10 pounds for the next while.

I’m looking for some help to pull my honey supers off on Tuesday and extracting on Wednesday. If you have some time and are willing to help please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.
