Happy Spring everyone!

Applewood Farm is planning for the year ahead. We will be raising laying hens, meat chickens, turkeys, lamb, and pigs. We are also raising cows for beef, but they will not be ready until next year. Please read below about our various endeavours and how you can purchase or reserve any of the products. We endeavour to keep our prices as low as possible. Food prices have increased in the store. Our operating costs have also increased, so some price changes were needed. We appreciate your continued patronage.

Whole, fresh pasture-raised CHICKENS will be available near the end of June. We always have whole, frozen chickens available. The cost is $6/lb. in a variety of sizes (3.5 - 7 lbs.) averaging around 5 lbs. We will be raising another batch in the fall which will be ready in October. We will also start offering chicken that is parted out, so you can purchase boneless breasts, drumsticks, thighs, wings, etc. We are still working on our prices and will send that information out at a later date.

Fresh pasture-raised TURKEYS will be available for pickup on Friday, October 9th in the evening (Thanksgiving weekend). We will be raising 25 this year. The cost is $6.25/lb. We ask for a $20 deposit per turkey to hold it for you. Deposits can be e-transferred to [email protected]. Receipts will be given.

Silvopasture-raised PIGS will be available October/November and will be ready for pickup in late-November. We will be raising 8-10 this year. The cost is $5.75/lb hung-weight for ½-pig or whole-pig, and $6/lb hung-weight for ¼-pig (processing included). A ¼-pig is about 60 lbs hung-weight. We are asking for a $50 deposit per ¼-pig ordered to hold it for you. Deposits can be e-transferred to [email protected]. Receipts will be given.

Grass-fed LAMBS will be ready for November. We have 6 lambs available. The cost is $13/lb hung-weight for ½-lamb or whole-lamb (processing included). A ½-lamb is about 25 lbs hung-weight. We are asking for a $50 deposit per ½-lamb ordered to hold it for you. Deposits can be e-transferred to [email protected]. Receipts will be given.

Pasture-raised EGGS are always available. Just call before coming to the farm to make sure we are home. Cost is $7/dozen.

You will receive cut sheets to choose how you wish your portion to be cut. We will walk you through the process if this is new to you.

FRESH chicken will be available Monday, October 20th, 6:30-8:00 PM.

As always, they are raised organically on pasture and certified organic feed. They will be an average of 5 lbs each. Cost is $6/lb.

Let me know if you plan to come and pick up some on the 20th!

After that, they will be put into our freezer and available as whole-frozen chicken.
