Amazing to have my little brother Mike and his fiancé Jill home for the week from BC. Good family vibes. I have Mike to thank for finally getting this monster tree from the Routenburg estate in Embro slabbed out. These slabs are 4 inches thick, 12 feet long and max out at 6.5 feet wide. A grand old silver maple. Think of all she’s seen in her years.

If you’ve been out to the showroom in the last two years, you’ve likely seen this big silver maple sitting out back. I’ve lost all motivation to use the Alaskan mill ever since my back injury. My youngest brother Mike came home with his fiancé Jill from BC for the week and decided to crack it open for me. I’m so happy. He’s going to continue tomorrow so more pics to come.
