Ontario Corn Fed Beef

Ontario Corn Fed Beef Faith in our members, pride in our product. The feed of cattle plays a big role in the flavour of the beef.

The Ontario Corn Fed Beef program provides consumers with an identifiably Ontario brand of beef – known to be consistent, premium and locally-raised. In this program, cattle consume a high percentage of corn in their diets. This diet gives our beef superior marbling which makes it the most tender, tasty beef anywhere. Corn-fed cattle have a desirable, distinct beef flavor recognized in the finest

restaurants. To be eligible to participate in the program, beef farmers must follow stringent quality assurance protocols. Since its introduction into the market place in 2001, Ontario Corn-fed beef has provided consumers with a recognizable brand and logo that assures them of receiving a product consistently produced in accordance with established quality standards.

We were honored to host a fantastic group of partners this week, including leadership from Beef Farmers of Ontario, OMAFA Deputy Minister Kelly, PA Paul Vickers, and guests from Japan representing Prima Meat Packers, Feel Corporation, and Foodway Corporation.

Japan remains a crucial export market for Ontario Corn Fed Beef. During their visit, we took our Japanese partners to the Cargill plant to showcase some fresh cuts, and wrapped up an amazing week of collaboration with a tour of the Sleeman Brewery! 🥩🍺

The latest edition of our Association's newsletter is now online. The Fall issue of The News Feed features our marketing team’s efforts to develop new markets for Ontario Corn Fed Beef.

With the recent reopening of the massive China market, we partnered with St. Helen’s and Chinese distributor partner JAC at the SIAL Show in Shanghai. OCFB has a strong reputation in China for its consistent quality and great taste.

Southeast Asia is a fast-growing region with many strong growth markets, including Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia. This summer we participated in two major events in markets where we have not traditionally focused on - Singapore and the Philippines.

Closer to home, the Ontario Central West Beef Tour Summer Classic was another huge success. Barn designs and management strategies highlighted the tour which took the visitors to feedlot operations in the Mount Forest, Kenilworth and Conn areas.
